Amazing Price for a lens that sells between £170 and £250 normally.

see here: camerapricebuster.co.uk/pro…828

Its £83.30 at amazon, but with £50 cashback in the form of an Amazon voucher or £60 cashback in the form of a love2shop voucher redeemable at lots of highstreet stores (argos, debenams, littlewoods, boots etc etc)

(its quick and guaranteed - ive done it three times myself before).

... Makes it only £23.30 (if you include the vouchers) - ridiculous for a fun lens to add to your collection. These sell on ebay upto £100 too.

Worth it for your panasonic lumix G camera.

I would double check it is compatible with your camera before purchase. But definately works on G2, G3, GH2 etc.

It should work with any 3d tv (according to reviews), or you can convert to old school red/blue 3d glasses for viewing.

Adam thanks for the post, initially looks like free money this deal. but where is the model number fosr this lens to verify against the cash back promotion?

Edited by: "maccamuz" 18th Oct 2012

You can't get CASH back with this - only an Amazon voucher.

"For purchases made from Amazon UK, or John Lewis PLC Panasonic will offer retailer specific giftcards for the same value as Cashback, or Love2Shop High Street retail Vouchers."

maccamuz, it's listed on the Panasonic site (drop-down menu).

You are wrong mate - £50 cashback - not amazon vouchers. See the link in my description. Not the link from the amazon page.

yeah i looked at the panasonic drop down and theres a list of model numbers and their respective cashback. problem is, I have no idea what this model number is to verify?

Even if it was £50 amazon voucher . still quids in! sell voucher on ebay for £45, sell lens for 60 (bottom prices) still decent profit

No, you are wrong, 'mate'.

Try reading the terms & conditions on the Panasonic page.

I'll stand corrected and have edited the post accordingly, they changed that since the last time I did cashback.. However £50 amazon voucher is as good as £50 to most people.

Granted not exactly the same ;-)

EDIT: £60 love2shop vouchers are even better... Thats christmas sorted

Checked this review here: pcmag.com/art…asp

PROS
Produces good-looking, realistic 3D images. Uses industry-standard .MPO files.

CONS
Doesn't support video capture. Lacks optical zoom. Lens isn't ideal for low-light shooting (without a flash or tripod). Only compatible with Micro Four Thirds cameras.

BOTTOM LINE
For the small crowd that owns a 3D HDTV or monitor and a compatible Micro Four Thirds camera, the Panasonic Lumix H-FT012 12.5mm f/12 3D G Lens provides a fun 3D shooting experience.

Looks to be a very good deal even without the cashback looking at this price.

fredoo looks a cracker indeed. effectively paid 30 odd quid for this piece of kit!

but are you sure the one amazon were selling is the exact same model number. i could not find this anywhere on amazons listing

Keep your cathedral cheese ill have this if true

It looks like is expired now

maccamuz..look under the title of product details lol

says it there. .. it is the right model.

I would exchange for a love to shop voucher..you get £60... about sell £55 on ebay... £50 after fees. cash

If you wish you could sell the lens for about £60 after fees..so yes a £30 profit minimum

Does anyone know if the cashback would still be valid if bought via a 3rd party seller through Amazon, as it still seems a reasonable price...? Thank you!

^^ im not certain, has to be a retailer I think, so if its a retailer it should be ok.. but not an individual selling it etc

Ask panasonic in the link above to be sure

Humm doesn't look that great to me. thinking a lumix is a compact and the whole assemply fits on the front of the camera lens then those lenses are very close to each other.

damn I missed this one, I hope I catch the next deal like this. If anyone tries this with a G5 please let me know.

most lumix cameras are like a mirrorless DSLR, sometimes called interchangeable-lens compact cameras, but they'e more SLR than bridge.

Yeah but the size of the thing must be small? Stereo effect depends on the distance to subject and distance between the taking lenses. Due to the scale the lens separation can't be that much = limited stereo effect.

ah, I see what you mean.

yes, it does seem to me that many 3D cameras, compact and others (like the HTC Evo 3D) have the stereoscopic lenses too close together, whereas I would have thought the lens separation should be the same as human eyes.

at your normal eye-to-eye yes it will look familiar to your brain but you can tweak the 3d effect by increasing lens separation beyond the human eye separation to 'boost' the 3d. I've never done this one but shooting a landscape from a moving train for instance may take your shots several meters apart but you need to do that to try and get 3d separation from distant objects. I have always wanted to shoot clouds in 3d which i guess would need a hundred to several hundred meters but it would result in something I've never seen anywhere.

btw i am talking about stills not video.

So, after all that, if you bought from Amazon, you can claim a £50 Amazon voucher back... or £50 cash, via PayPal!

I went for the latter. Lens cost £33.30.

Sweet. :-)
