Panasonic KX-TG2723 Trio DECT Cordless Telephone Set with Answer Machine £18 @ Tesco instore

Looking for a phone in Tesco and this model was on the shelf priced at £18, cheaper than any other single phone but it's a triple phone with an answering machine, speakerphone, alarm clock and other features. Currently about £45 elsewhere.
It wasn't a special offer just the normal price tag so may be worth risking a wild goose chase to see if they have them in your local branch.

You got a real bargain and the best digital cordless phone set around. Had my set about 4 years, still on the same set of rechargeable batteries and the reception is great up to 75M range.

The link just goes to the Tesco website. The phone was found in store.

Good find, but doubt there's much stock around

Not online- let's hope they have then locally

We had these phones for a week before we left them back. They were terrible quality. You couldn't hear anything all. Save your money

Panasonic phones are not what they used to be. Awful sound quality on calls. We had an amazing set about 12 years ago and when they died we immediately chose Panasonic again but they were awful.

my Philips set (quite old now) is shocking sound quality. I presumed that was either a) my line or b) what you get with cordless phones.

which ones are good quality, then?

then you were unlucky because the sound quality on Panasonic sect phones is without peers

Bought similar from Tesco about five weeks ago for £17 (KX-TG8063) - saw the exact same thing in Sainsburys yesterday for £65 (from £80). Very happy with mine, and £18 for KX-TG2723 for a triple pack of phones with answerphone is an absolute billy bargain and the sound quality is absolutely fine on my set!!!:p

Bought panasonic twin dect for £16 couple of weeks ago in Tesco Great Harwood. Love em!

Panasonic have the best home line phones in the world. Bought ours several years ago and still going strong with no issues at all.

Unfortunately, you're wrong. I had some Philips and they were rubbish, went to BT and they were even worse and only lasted a year or so with horrible sound. Then someone recommended Panasonic, a little more expensive, but supposedly worth it and 6yrs ago when we got them, they were.

Now upgraded to some new Panasonics and they are utterly crap!!! Which best buy??? they must have paid for it!!! The sound is crap, the reception is crap and the interface is slow and annoying. One of the three failed within 3wks so I took them back assuming that, as you said, I "had been unlucky". Now this set is doing the same!!!! Panasonic are clearly cutting corners or they have changed their manufacturing base, either way, old Panny = GOOD, new Panny = BINATONE!!

These phones are certainly not the best sounding in the world from Panasonic which were one of the better manufacturers until recently.
Build quality is good, but these particular phones tend to sound a tad 'tinny' down the line.
Also be aware that Panasonic Customer Service is quite bad now and not UK based, unless it has since changed.
certainly good price and even better if you can find them in-store at Tesco

Got these, paid more than this :-(, crackin deal

I got the last in St Helens

Another wild goose chase!

I've got Panasonic and the sound is absolutely fine. The only problem is that when there is a message on the answering machine, though there is a message on screen they don't flash or even light to alert you. This means that unless you actually check every time you've been out you may not notice it for some days.

There were non anywhere near this price when I visited Coulby Newham Tesco on Tuesday, Grrr! Of course they could have changed price by now, but doubt it, as from comments they seem to have been this price at various stores for a while.

+1 and they fail now after a year. They used to be bombproof and the go to brand for cordless phones. Now they are overpriced tat

I agree panasonic not the best phones - I have the 8063 set and the clear sound technology (A High-precision error correction system ensures clear conversation with less sound glitches, allowing you to enjoy a smooth, error-free conversation even when you're far away from the base unit.) is absolutely hopeless and cant be switched off. If the person you are calling has background noise whilst you are making the calls - the sound just keeps cutting out and makes hearing the person virtually impossible - these are worst handsets ever and how people manage with them is beyond me. I know it is not just me as many others experience the same problems - It is evident on all three handsets and if you are calling a call centre where there is untold background noise then heaven help you.
Also the volume level is minimal with the maximum setting barely loud enough for a normal call.
Personally don't rate them.

I may have been more critical if I'd paid £45 but the couple of times I've used the phone I've had no complaints... maybe it's one of those end of line situations where they finally iron out the problems then take it off the market. And if the handset dies after a year I have two spares, just hope the base station lasts.
The reviews seem good overall, though not entirely without complaint.

Had a look today when pootling in Tesco (Toton, Nottingham), all triples were scanning at either £70 or £90
