The built-in speakerphone in these Panasonic cordless phones allows for hands free conversations which are great for a group to listen or chat at the same time.

An impressive 17 hours talk time is available on each telephone which is ample for even the chattiest of people, and with 19 ring tones to choose from there, is something to please everyone.

been this price for ages now, bought mine wih a £10 off code at least 6months ago

basic set i.e no number transfer from one to the other, no answer phone

think comet did a set of 3 (panasonic) with answer phone and number transfer for £40ish which if I had my time again I would of got instead.

No number transfer decides it for me, not that I need a new set. I got the 8423 set from amazon black Monday- a fab buy and highly recommended

Are these DECT?

They are both panasonic (brand) and DECT (digital as opposed to analogue)

We had these phones last year, and I can honestly say they have been the best phones we've ever had, much better than iDect and Binatone phones we've had in the past. Good solid build, excellent volume, easy to use and decent ring tone. Highly recommended for the price.

DECT = Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephone

We have the set of 3 and I will vouch for them being the best phones we've had also (and have been through numerous sets in the past). Battery length is superb although we did get a set of 3 with the ansaphone for around £50 - so this price is about right.

We got the upgraded version with colour display for not much more from argos........... not sure this is much of a bargin tbh.......

Hmmm, boring display, I want 1080p

Just picked these up. Not a bargain as such but worth the money. Speakerphone and earpiece volume can be turned much louder than any other handset I've used. Call quality is generally better too, very little hiss. Sometimes you can hear yourself through the earpiece though which can be annoying.

FYI, you can usually get the colour quads with answerphone and phonebook number transfers for less than £100 on Amazon.

How is that better? They are for speaking to people with, not watching soaps.

My gripe with many of these sets is that they don't have an answer phone. I'd guess with today's technology, it would cost about 50p more to have an answer phone as standard rather than wasting time making some sets with one and some without.

I wasn't looking for phones but now I've seen them it's got ne interested. The main reason being that the low battery warning on ours is a vary VERY harsh bleep that goes of in your ear while you're rebbitibg.

Thanks very much, picking them up from my local Tesco today.
