The Fun of Photography in HD

The DMC-FS30 features a 28mm wide-angle 8x optical zoom LUMIX DC VARIO lens (35mm camera equivalent: 28-224mm). The 28mm wide-angle lens lets you easily capture large groups of people indoors or expansive architectural structures and scenes with dynamic width and rich perspective. The 8x optical zoom lens captures beautiful shots of people or landscapes with 14.1-megapixel resolution. The Extra Optical Zoom function uses the center part of the CCD to extend this 8x zoom ratio to powerful 16.9x zoom at a resolution of 3-megapixel or less.

Key Features

An easy-to-see, 230,000-dot Intelligent LCD for comfortable viewing while both monitoring shots and playing back the results. The Intelligent LCD function detects the light condition and automatically boosts the LCD backlighting.

I think I'd prefer to wait for the TZ to come down to the £120 mark and get that.

Blue, black or purple available for £10 more at tesco direct in their clearance.

Just beat me to it ...Here have some heat

Cheers, ordered one for my hols...couldn't risk waiting for the TZs to drop.

I've got a six year old Kodak Z740 5MP, 10x zoom camera, and I got one of these to replace it. I'm considering returning the FS30 because I can't get images as sharp as the Kodak, particularly at full zoom. The colour is definitely better though, so I guess it must be the fact that the Kodak lens is bigger? But I'm no expert...

You really need the LIECA Lens .... not this Lens!

I would spend a bit more and get a TZ

same price at AMAZON

Agreed - I had one of these to take on holiday last September and it was outperformed in every situation by our 4 year old TZ1 which my wife used. I sold the FS30 soon after.

Why would you get this if you can have Fuji F70exr for 15 quid less?

If you are talking about the deal that was posted recently for the F70 that deal is now expired, it was for a refurbished unit and price is now £99.99

It is still a better camera. I got one refurbished and it is absolutely no different than new.
