nice camera, nice price. voted hot

Voted Hot.....Used to work for a retail photography company and the Panasonic Lumix Cameras were always the best, they won loads of awards in the industry and the lens they use is fantastic.....definately a bargain for anyone needing a new camera!!!!

I have a sim camera and this is a bargin. hot

Very impressive build quality on the Lumix range, cheap at this price for a quality item.

Amazing price.

This is a stunning deal, imo the only cameras that beat this (for this type of camera) are the Canon powershot a580 & a470. Check out the bottom of the cameras.co.uk review for alternatives and you'll find that most of them are around double the price.

I thought that I'd be replacing my Canon with another Canon but I have decided that I never use all the features on my a85 and I just need a camera that will take care of most things but still allow some tweaks. The price caught my attention but here are the real clinchers for me -
30fps movie mode @ 848 x 480 pixels
Average shutter lag but better than the powershots
Price
AA batteries
Optical image stabilser
auto-iso
Zoom - special e-zoom to 4.5x (limited to 3mp res)
Auto ISO - Changes ISO if motion is detected to prevent motion blur
Auto Macro

Ordred along with the Sandisk 4gb Extreme III £12.50 deal from Play. Thanks to the OP for that one too, v nice when you add to the package a 5% voucher and quidco.

ordered - cheers

takes AA batteries tho:( AA run flat very quickly in digital cameras, best of getting a camera with a li-ion battery pack. Good price tho.

Lithium AA batteries are supposed to be extremely good at delivering power but are more expensive than rechargables. Most people find hybrid batteries a good trade off.

One on the way ! Damn... I can visity HOTusDeals any more - every day, I'm buying something.

Thank you very much !

Ordered one, thank you. With 1GB card the offer is even more attractive. Thanks

ordered one too been looking at the deals for cameras lately and they all seem to be lacking a little on something somewhere in the reviews. i nearly bought a canon ixus at double the price but mr wallet said the difference would be unnoticable to a normal average joe like me and this camera has had good reviews.

as for the batteries, samsung cameras my gf and her family seem to use only like duracells but last forever as long as u dont sit there going through pics all the time, if this one is less picky and will take rechargeables it will be good

good find thanks op

Yes, Panasonics are good cameras but running on AA batteries really is a serious weakness. In part this is one cheap because they don't need to supply a battery and charger - you do that!

Seriously, spend just a little more for one with a proper Li-ion rechargeable, buy yourself another cheap recargeable from China as a backup and it'll repay you many times over. Slimmer camera too.

The 2009 models all seem to be coming into the shops at lower prices too - loads under £100 before they even start to discount.

AA batteries are an advantage! If you run out of power where you're out and about, just pop into the nearest shop & buy some more! With proprietry batteries, you would be stuffed in this situation.

lol simon! You better have a shop near to you as you'll be getting ALOT of batteries :P

li-ion batteries last for AGES, AA dont.

Cheers Mate, bought one!

The quality of the camera is more important than the batteries, I wouldn't refuse to buy a camera based on the type of batteries it uses. Taking a spare set of rechargeables when you go out will see you through the day and you can always walk into a shop if you flatten them all. You can carry a spare li-ion but if you are caught short then you are stuffed, although I accept that you should have plenty of power with li-ion.

I've been running my canon on rechargeable AA for 3 years and never ran out of power 'cos I put a fresh set in before going out with my camera. Now I'm switching to hybrid as they hold their charge and are now reasonabley priced so I don't accept that this is a downside to this camera.

Has anyone found a nice case for this camera, looked on ebay and online and see nothing good...

if you've looked on ebay you are too fussy, there are 1000's of camera cases!

Yes I am fussy, most of what they have on ebay for this camera case comes from Hong Kong and Latvia and falls apart after first use

No, it doesn't. This camera is from China too, so are your knickers.

Wow, you are obviously an expert in a variety of products  but I thought we were talking camera cases?

P.S: I did not mean everything that comes from China falls apart, only read reviews. BTW China was a wrong answer anyway Turkey on this occasion.

I remember, I bought my camera case from China and its still serving me fine after a year. It still looks like new. Don't worry about buying a Chinese camera case.

I can't comment on Turkish products, but its worth a punt, as camera cases are so cheap, so even if it does fall apart, you can always buy another.

Thankyou. Bought one!

Don't panic, it's the newbie syndrome - it will pass when you'll realise how many things you've bought only because were cheap and now you don't have a use for it!

Still doesn't address the point that this is cheap partly because they don't supply a charger and (Li-ion) battery whereas you do.

Add the price of a decent quality charger and a couple of sets of rechargeables to this and you could get yourself a much slimmer camera with proper rechargeable. If you REALLY think AA is better, fine, but you're in a small minority there.

Do agree that Panasonics are good though.

maybe we already own a charger and batteries so no need to buy one, so therefore a good camera at a great price???

dont forget the 5% code which brings it down to £56.99. 0.5% quidco too makes it £56.72 delivered.

I've already got the charger so no issues for me, but even if I didn't they don't cost much and anyway the camera is more important than the batteries so this is not about the batteries.

Also, slimmer doesn't mean better, most of the slimmer cameras don't perform as well the fatter ones, tiny squashed optics will always be a trade off. Saying that I would consider a Canon Ixus as they are the best in the skinny camera field.

This should not be expired, its out of stock but the deal is still on, if you pay this price you'll still get it.

BACK IN STOCK:) please un-expire this deal
