I would too, if I was posting the pictures on the side of Selfridges in Birmingham at maximum size, but for normal use the pics from the 8mp camera I have are more than I can store without editing them down to make them of manageable size!
Megapixels means very little in isolation.

The problem with the Fuji one, there is nothing around to read about it :-(

Crackin' deal. 12MP is just waste for a lot of people. I'd much rather have the Panasonic 8.1MP than the Fuji 12.1MP........

I am so glad you both said that as I went for the Panasonic one! Spent ages standing there deciding as well!

Thanks !
Nice Panasonic with Leica lens, 8 megapixels is more than enough even for an A4 print ,
Sandisk II 2gig SD card , total £69 and Quidco too.

Just Ordered the Panasonic. Better Quality and Includes a Lithium Battery Pack as standard. I know its only 8 Megapixels, however in my opinion that it more than adequate.

Ordered one too. I've looked about and this is a very good deal. I've been after a new camera since my Samsung packed in. The Samsung had 10.3 MP, but to be honest I never used it, when I did the output was far too big.

I also like the 4x Optical Zoom here, better than my previous.

Good deal
8 MP is more than enough.

Another plus point is that this camera got Li Ion battery pack which is better and compact than the other formats.

Being replaced by the FS42 12MP. Does NOT have Leica lens.

Super deal - can't go wrong for £65 Leica lens or not - one ordered and heat added - Thanks

Does NOT have Leica lens.

thanks for pointing that out, I wrongly assumed all the Lumix range had Leica lenses....
for me the No1 reason for buying Lumix, this model must be bottom of the pile
order cancelled

Any other quality cameras around for this price? Was gonna go for the Lumix, but the last comment ^ has just put me off now, and I hate Fuji.

The Panasonic is out of stock online at the moment.

This ]Olympus seems a reasonible camera to me, though admitedly don't know much about them!

A better option (in my opinion) from Argos is the Panasonic Lumix DMCFS6EBS 8MP (Cat. No. 559/1772).

The Argos camera is £90 and the Tesco camera is £65 with the code. It may be better, but its more exspensive.

The Argos item is also OUT OF STOCK:whistling:

Thats £20 more at £89.99 for those wondering the price.... However seems like a newer model FS6 compared to FS4?

Ah yes out of stock as alexandercooper said, both online and 8 stores near me....

Thanks OP, nearly ordered this for £99 a few days ago. The best point + click on the market with 4x opt zoom atm

None of them actually do, Panasonic branded the lenses Leica as part of a deal with Leica - at the moment Leica and Panasonic seem to be going their own way hence non-branded lenses appearing. As always I'd consider a camera based on its performance and not its branding.

They are just Leica branded lenses following a deal for Panasonic to help bail our Leica from financial difficulties. Panasonic lenses are a cut above the average and I suspect they just miss the Leica branding lower down the range to save royalties or whatever.

This is a great little camera at an incredible price. I think you've made a mistake cancelling for that reason (and no longer available to re-order).

I've mentioned this terrific Tesco deal several times on HUKD and I'm amazed it's lasted this long - they must have had a shedload as it has been an amazing price for such a great little camera.

I'm pretty sure I saw this in-store yesterday.

I got mine instore it was just on the web as well

Sadly not very impressed with this camera, even thoug it's entry level. Flash not strong enough imho for indoor shots (took some at indoor bowling and in well lit restaurant) the background was dark/grainy whilst the subject was a bit brighter. Face detection didn't produce good shots (auto scene selection not that brilliant either, the "scene selection - party; made the flash and shutter very slow). Our daughter's 4 year old Samsung (4mp) does a much better job, and this Panasonic was supposed to be it's upgrade/replacement.

Being returned; wouldn't recommend it even for the name Panasonic or price of £69. And the lcd screen not bright enough to view photos even in review mode.

Bought a couple of these panasonics for my kids and I’ve been very impressed with the results so far. Cracking lens for the money, colour and exposure spot on. Auto focus quick enough and battery life between charges amazing. Overall extremely pleased with the deal, although not an advanced camera super value imo. Thanks for spotting the deal.

Your experience seems to be totally at odds with virtually every other reviewer here and elsewhere. Either you have a faulty camera or are expecting the unachievable, especially with flash from a tiny pocket camera (flash will only be effective over a short distance).

Hi Besford, you might well be right, it could be a faulty camera. I just wanted to share my experiences of the camera. I'm glad that others have found it met their needs. Unfortunately it didn't meet ours.

We weren't expecting the unachievable, our old samsung "pocket Camera" over a few years old produced better results with it's builtin flash. The photos we took with Lumix were from varying distances between 3 and 8 feet with and without flash; results were soft and grainy, with poor exposure. To be fair, we did manage to take a couple of slightly better ones outdoors, but still problems with the exposure. Also we found the LCD screen was dark even when reviewing the photos, we could do with making it two steps brighter.

We''ve had a few years experience with all levels of cameras starting from extremely basic , pocket cameras and dslr; as early as when our kids were 7 ranging from Fuji. Canon, , Samsung, sony and (mostly mine) Nikon D80.

Though it was a basic camera we would have kept it were it not for some ot the reasons I mentioned above. I even used an Extreme III 2GB sd card (same as used in my Nikon D80).

No longer available on line but I noticed they still had a couple of these at my local Tesco today (Solihull, Monkspath), but they're marked up at £89.97, not £69.

Still a good buy in my opinion.
