Photo Quality
High-Quality Pictures with 16-megapixel CCD
Panasonic's high resolution 16.1 megapixel imaging chip provides high quality pictures with the flexibility to print out large sized photographs or crop into parts of the image while still retaining a good pixel count.
Super Zoom 21x Optical Zoom Lens
One of the benefits of a bridge camera is the wide choice of focal range on offer in a lens that is built-in to the camera. With a focal range of 25-525mm equivalent, that means a zoom magnification of 21 times. So when you need to get close to the subject, but the subject can't come close to you, the LZ20 is perfect.
48.5x EX Optical Zoom
With such a high resolution sensor on board the LZ20 it is possible to offer an extended zoom range by cropping in to the centre part. When using less than a 3 megapixels area of the image it is possible to shoot at a 48.5x zoom.
25mm (Equivalent) Wide-angle Lens
Of course sometimes you want to photograph wide vistas or just fit a large group of people into the shot. This is where the 25mm equivalent wide angle lens on board this camera comes into its own. Its wide angle of view allows more of your subject into the photograph, which is great for those times when you can't step back far enough to fit it all in.
Optical Image Stabilisation
Image stabilisation is essential when taking high zoom pictures without the use of a tripod. Optical stabilisation is the best method as it counteracts the blur that normally occurs by hand holding the camera. With O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilisation), pictures are sharp and blur free even when the shooting conditions are tricky.
HD Video With Motion Jpeg
Sometimes a still picture just doesn't tell the whole story, so it's great to have High Definition video recording available on board your camera. Recording at 1280 x 720 resolution means your video recordings look great when watched on a HD TV or Computer.
Functionality & Ease of Use
High Resolution 3.0 Inch LCD With High Brightness Mode
A high resolution (460,000 pixels) Liquid Crystal Display is offered with a 3.0 inch viewing area that works well in bright light due to the Auto Brightness sensor that automatically increases brightness by up to 40% when in sunny conditions.
iA (Intelligent Auto) Shooting Mode
The art of taking interesting photographs is to have a camera that is ready to shoot when the moment arises. iA mode is a feature of all Lumix models and it lets you take the picture without you having to worry about what settings to use. The camera intelligently works out the type of scene that you are trying to capture. Whether it is a picture of a person's face (using Auto Portrait mode), a dramatic landscape (using Auto Landscape mode), a close up of a beautiful flower (using Auto Macro mode) or a group of friends (using Auto Face Detection & Recognition). All the most commonly used shooting scenarios are programmed in to the camera and the camera makes all the internal settings automatically, leaving you to just press the button.
Manual Exposure Control
Dedicated exposure button for getting creative with the shutter speed setting
Digital cameras with any form of manual control normally come at the top-end of the range. The LZ20 however, offers a dedicated exposure button for getting creative with the shutter speed setting.
Program & Full Manual Options Via Mode Dial
The top mode dial offers more manual options
There are just some shooting situations where "Automatic" mode is not flexible enough. As you grow in confidence using the camera you will want to stretch the capabilities of the camera more and more. This is where the mode dial on the top side of the LZ20 easily allows you access to the flexible creative modes "Program" and "Manual". Program is a semi-automatic mode that lets the camera initially make the appropriate settings but lets you over ride them. Manual mode is exactly what it suggests, a mode that give you full control over shutter and aperture.
180 Degree Panorama Shooting Mode
New for 2012 is the Panorama shooting mode
New for 2012 is the Panorama mode. Just select it in the scene menu and position yourself to take a wide 180 degree Panoramic photo. By holding down the shutter button while slowly swivelling your hips or turning around, a beautiful panoramic image can be made. The camera takes pictures consecutively while you turn. When the shooting ends, consecutively shot images are joined together to produce a single panoramic picture.
Multiple Scene Setting Auto Shooting Modes
Up to 18 pre-programmed scene modes can be offered (number varies depending on model) giving you the choice of a wide range of shooting scenarios. Just select the one that best describes the scene you are taking, and the camera makes the best settings automatically.
AA Battery Powered for Convenience
The LZ20 offers the added convenience of running on the widely available "AA" sized batteries. Either rechargeable Ni-MH or regular Alkaline batteries can be used. Despite being able to take up to 380 images* on one set of batteries, if you do run out of power, you are never far away from a replacement set. *Recording conditions by CIPA standard.

This has a 02L Whilst that has 38F
Only difference I can se :P
Quite tempted by this. I had an old FZ5 which I took some great photos on. Then I upgraded to a DSLR, and never take any photos because the camera's too big and heavy to take anywhere.
From what i've read, no you can't.
Also check peoples videos on Youtube, they are pretty unimpressive.
Panasonic seem to revel in the ability to stop you zooming whilst recording. My fs11 was spoilt by this as well.
Is this correct?
Add 3 year product replacement warranty for £12 and in a year or two they will replace it for an equivalent model in case of any damage (_;)
already tested - NO zoom while recording...

It does have optical image stabilisation, which certainly helps.
Can't see it same price in currys/pc world it's saying £94.99

Good find though
£114 now, so not much point mentioning really.
I need something that takes 3-5 shots in one go to give me best choice of picture.
