Decided to get myself the Lumix TZ10 today as had missed out on a few deals previously. Took the plunge as the panasonic £30 cashback offer ends on the 19th Jan.

Having checked all offers this seems to be the cheapest. The price is only based on the black version for some reason other colours are more expensive!

To get the price of £216.08 use the code PIXVATBACK10 then if you go via quidco you get 6% cash back = £12.97 plus the £30 cashback brings it to £173.11.

If anyone can find a better price at the mo please let me know

The TZ series from Panasonic is great.
You can get a spare, non Panasonic battery
that is guaranteed to work and away you
go.
A wonderful choice and a good offer with
the £30 cashbck.

I ride trials & I'm looking for a digital camera that offers slowmotion video recording ( High Speed recording) .
They tend to be expensive but I wonder if anybody's spotted the Samsung WB2000 or Casio Exilim EX-FC150 or Casio Exilim EXZR10 on special offer.
Alternatively if anyone has one in good condition to sell, please let me know
Thanks

Agreed, these are great cameras. Perfect for those who don't want the bulk of an slr but want quality shots.

Keep a look out for BestBuy (home delivery) £216.00 15% Quidco

unfortunately none available at the moment however they do pop up every other day it seems

Pixmania an infamous supplier - buy from them at your risk! Also probably won't be a UK model (ships from France, wrong plug, etc.) so not eligible for the £30 cashback!

£217.50 at Amazon (has been as low as £106).

Have been looking at best buy for the past few weeks and nothing regards home delivery. If I waited any longer the £30 cashback would expire so decided to give them a miss

Think you exaggerating a bit. Bought from these previously and fine and it will be eligable for £30 cashback. And in regards to being as low as £106 I very much doubt it, lowest I saw was around £155.

I agree Pixmania aren't as bad as people make out

cant comment on the Pixmania c/b eligibility

Can confirm Amazon were selling the black @ £206 before xmas (but no Quidco)

I would be very wary getting the £30 back from a Pixmania purchase - not saying you won't get it but be prepared to get a knock back from Panasonic as you have to buy from a selected retailer to qualify for the cashback and I don't see any link on Pixmania's website indicating they are part of the cashback promotion. As stated on the Pixmania website, it's not UK stock and will be supplied with an adaptor.

Thanks, I have just sent customer services a message to cancel my order as typically there online cancellation option isnt working. Looks like I will have to keep my eye on best buy for the next week or so

I have deliberately avoided pixmania to buy this camera, even though they are the cheapest (only just mind, postage is not included in their headline prices). At the moment it is easy to get this camera for £215 (amazon.co.uk or apollo2000 stores) and with both selling UK stock that makes the camera £185 with the Panasonic cashback.

Ask yourself what better/worse position you are in by buying this camera for a mere tenner less. Ask yourself what you'd have to do to exercise your rights under the 12 month warranty that comes with the camera. How will you get the camera to/from whoever/wherever it has to go to be repaired. Look at pixmania's T&C's and see what you have to do, and where you have to send your beloved camera to. For me ... I'd much prefer to be doing that sort of thing with a proper UK retailer (and preferably one I can walk into a store and look a salesperson in the eyes). The true cost of this or any camera is over the lifetime you intend to keep it....

I'll be happy to accept your apology on both counts!

I really hope you manage to stop your order but Pixmania's reputation suggests you now have an expensive, non UK spec TZ10 on its way. Sorry, I'm not trying to be snotty about it but I gave good advice and you rejected it in ignorance. I've never bought from Pixmania because of their awful reputation on HUKD. As they are an overseas seller you won't have the protection of UK consumer law either.

I've had great service from Play.com but I wouldn't buy a high value item like this from them for similar reasons.

I bought from Amazon at £107 in December but it did drop slightly lower for a short while. £217.50 with guaranteed £30 back is still better than this deal.

Edited by: "Besford" 6th Jan 2011

is that just a typo or was it really £107? I've been keeping tabs on this camera for a while, would be gutted if i missed out on that deal!! I saw it at £207 in December

Yep apologies should have listened to ya. I sent an email and decided to call, the idiot on the phone said "I cant do anything it is being packed and cant be stopped". I will have to wait for it to be delivered and refuse the delivery. **** useless! If they sorted the bloody site out with the ability to cancel online then it would have been cancelled!!!!!

Are you sure you meant £107???? not £207?

lol didn't notice that until you said ! must be

having said that some jammy bar Stewards did manage to use a code to get £100.00 off anything at Harrods of all places ! therefore bought the TZ10 for around 120 quid

Yeah I saw that code at the time but wasnt looking for a camera...typical!

I think this mostly applies to online retailers, however, not to Amazon. In fact I would rather buy from Amazon rather than from some high street retailers as their customer service is so good.

I bought a DSLR from them which became faulty after 3 months. Called Amazon and they sent out a replacement same day (diddnt even have to send old one back first) - no fuss, no hassle.......even better than a high street store where you get the spotty kid who knows nothing about cameras but could hard wire a jet shuttle no problem.

Sorry - that would be just too good - £207! Wishful thinking maybe?

A silver one became available for home delivery this evening at Best Buy.

I managed to nab it for £215.98.

with 15.15% cashback from Topcashback in addition to £30 cashback from Panasonic it's cost me £153.25 !

Keep checking the Best Buy website if you're after this camera because their stock gets updated all the time.
Remember though that cashback from Topcashback or Quidco will only be for orders that are home delivery, not reserve and collect

£215.99 for either silver, black or red at Bestbuy right now and in stock!
However, only reserve & collect so no Quidco/Topcashback I believe. Definitely eligible for the £30 cashback though.
bestbuy.co.uk/Cat…=12

Eh.....yes that's what i said lol

buckfast67uk

Not quite. Other people cannot achieve the same excellent price of £153.25 that you did as no home delivery (currently) available, so no Quidco/TCB as you say.

Cant believe it they left the bloody camera with a neighbour. A £200 camera and no signture for delivery!!! So I now have to pay to send it back. Pixmania go **** yourself!!1!!

No signature = not delivered
Call them to chase delivery/cancellation!

Original Poster

Wish I had but stupid me decided to send em an email telling them to collect it and that I am not willing to pay postage

just to confirm to folks out there that this camera is available to buy in-store, reserve for collection in-store, or to be delivered free via apollo200 - apollo2000.co.uk - for £214.99, which after the £30 cashback makes the price £184.99. Great news if, like me, you happen to live near to a store, as it means you have an easy direct way of dealing with the company if things go awry (and throughout the warranty period). This is slightly more than pixmania + quidco + cashback but IMHO its a small additional price to pay for buying from a bona fide UK high-street retailer.

Has anyone questioned why Panasonic are offering a £30 cashback deal on the Lumix TZ10? Could it possibly be because they want to get rid of stock before the release of their next Travel Zoom camera? Possibly a TZ11 or TZ12?

The TZ7 and TZ8 were released around the 27th of January 2009, then the TZ10 was released the following year on the 26th of January 2010. Could it be that Panasonic are looking at releasing the next version of the Travel Zoom incarnation shortly after the cashback deal ends after the 19th of January 2011?

Will a TZ11 or TZ12 be released nearing the end of January thereby bringing the cost down further of the current TZ10? Would the price be cheaper than the current cost including the cashback deal?

This is of course all speculation at this stage, but a TZ11 or TZ12 with for example the same fantastic photo quality but with 1080HD recording instead of the current 720 and perhaps a 16x zoom instead of the current 12x :-)

@Alorenz really impressed with the Apollo2000 deal. Never heard of the site before but will bookmark it for future use. They also have a store within travelling distance!

@pattersons21 - your post made me laugh, this is the eternal dillemma for all technology purchases these days! its highly possible that the TZ10 is about to be replaced hence the cashback, but the real question is do you want to buy this camera now with this spec for this much money. Well I'm going on holiday early February to Egypt - the land of a million photo opportunities - so I don't have time to wait for the TZ11 :P And my purchase will be to replace a now aging Sony DSC-T5 which was a cracking camera in its day - but of course was comprehensively out-spec'd and out-priced within 3 months of me buying it. Oh well, c'est la vie matey.

Can see why this didn't get very hot - never mind!

because you're not going to get £30 back from Panasonic as Pixmania aren't a UK dealer and the camera you get sent isn't uk spec.

Just got a letter from panasonic rejecting my £30 cashback (bought before christmas) as not a UK model. I think its a bit rough when they are offering 35EU for customers in europe.

Will complain

--edit--

read the terms wrong - ROI is republic of ireland (dohh) so not going to get anything

French panansonic site doesnt have an offers either

Wont be buying from Pixmania again and the stupid thing is that they are owned by Dixons Store Group
