Brilliant little camera. We hardly use our DSLRs since we got one of these - the zoom is superb for the size and the quality of images is remarkable. With the price having dropped since it was launched it now seems ridiculously cheap for the performance.
Same price at Jessops

Currently with 5 Year Warranty from Panasonic
5 year warranty also through John Lewis and you can buy a 2 year accidental damage cover for £15. You have to buy by 3 April to claim the Panasonic 5 year deal.
Thanks for posting. I'm looking for a travel camera and can't bring myself to haul around an SLR. Can any of you camera gurus out there advise on whether a camera like this takes better photos than a iPhone 7?
Hi all, I'm looking for a digital camera and this looks to fit my budget and needs but I've come across the Sony HX60 for £180. Just wondering which would be the best one out of the two?

In a word - yes, yes, yes (OK, that's 3 words). iPhone not bad for a phone cam (and so it should be at Apple prices!) but this will take excellent pictures on automatic and if you want to learn how to use the manual settings, etc. you can get almost DSLR shots.

This camera will be better - particularly when zooming in.

Not quite the same, "Manufacture Refurbish (As Brand New Condition With Full 12 Months warranty & 7 Days Money Back Guarantee)".
We've got the 70 - brilliant little camera. Zoom is outstanding.

Wi-fi transfer to phone is excellent too. Love my Nikon D5100 SLR but it's barely been touched since I got the Panasonic.
Can this really replace a dslr?

Are you kidding?

Yes.
This or the Sony DSC-HX60V? GPS and wifi with remote control from phone app are a must for me. Meanwhile voted hot on this one.

Not really (at the limit) but that length zoom would cost you a fortune on a DSLR and the best camera is the one you have with you - which probably won't be the DSLR as you get fed up with carting it around along with the lenses, etc.

If you take up photography as a serious hobby you'll probably want a DSLR (and then keep upgrading until you realise you've spent £mega!) but for getting some excellent shots when you're out and about it doesn't get a lot better than these. Weakness is in low light situations, but still not awful.

Isn't that one of the reasons why they reduced the resolution in the TZ70? There were some good offers for the TZ70 in the past but unfortunately all expired at the moment.
Putting the zoom aside, is this taking much more "DLSR-like" photos than the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR from approx. 7 years ago in normal conditions? I tried to find some comparisons but they do not make much sense to me. Yes, in theory a CMOS sensor appears to be better than an older CCD one. No, the Fujifilm appears to have a much larger sensor (but surely, a lower quality one due to technological advancement?).

So, what is it? In layman's terms. Thanks!

Not the same at all. I hadn't notice that. Not worth saving £10 to get a refurb, and with just a one year guarantee.
Currently have the Sony WX350, does anyone know which one is the better camera out of the two?

Thanks

I love my Panasonic Lumix LX100 - bigger than a compact but smaller than a bridge/micro four thirds (but with four thirds sensor), Leica f1.7 lens so great for bokeh and low light, and most of the controls are like old fashioned manual controls... or press the iA (intelligent auto) if you just want to snap. Sturdy and perfect for travel.

The LX100 is almost exactly the same camera as the Leica D-LUX (Typ 109) only a lot cheaper. Check out the reviews
I have this camera and it's fab. the zoom is phenomenal.
I have the same issue as some other people, is it worth getting this for travelling if I've got an iPhone 7 plus?

the issue you have is actually the fact you dont seem to know what the camera does vs your phone
your phone takes a picture
the camera takes a picture, or one massively zoomed in or anywhere in between
if no need to zoom then little point imo (in this camera anyway)

Myself and OH have been using a Sony dsc-hx10v in conjunction with iPhones for a long time. We use it for anything that needs a wide angle (it's wider than an iPhone) or zooming in, where iPhones immediately lose resolution. We've been doing quick transfer to phone for chat, etc, via a Flashair SD WiFi card. It's been a good solution but this TZ60 deal has persuaded us to jump and it arrived yesterday.

The TZ60 does not seem as solid as our old white Sony or even as attractive looking, but I'm hoping we won't have to stop down the exposure settings all the time to stop highlights bleaching out as with the Sony. The WiFi on the TZ60 is super unintuitive to set up (compared to the Flashair) and I can only so far get the Direct WiFi mode to work. Once you get the process, it's OK to transfer and photos go straight to iPhone photo library.

What sets the TZ60 apart is the viewfinder, use right eye for it to avoid getting grease spots on the camera display, but it's great.

Where did u see the Sony for £180?
This JL deal needs expiring, where's a mod when you need one?
But let's hope more TZ60 deals pop up, still getting to grips with ours as a result of this JL deal, results look promising so far.

Shows as expired on the iOS app but not on the website
Still £229 at Jessops, maybe worth a price match with JL? I've got a gift card to use.

I've had Panasonic Lumix TZ cameras since the TZ1 and they have given faultless service and great picture quality. Big camera functionality in a compact package. This a cracking camera at a cracking price.
Great price. They are still selling for close to £200 secondhand on ebay! Can't believe people don't look around first, especially when this has a 2 year guarantee . I chose this model over others due to the electronic viewfinder. I don't like using the rear screen for taking photos. Hot deal
buy a mirrorless CSC is it best option. conpact with DSLR quality
