When I spoke to John Lewis white goods saleswoman she said it was a great machine and would be uneconomic for John Lewis to even try to match the price.

For collection of existing machine, ask when they call to arrange delivery date.

You need to use the code SSE10 at the checkout to reduce the price by 10%.

Put code in. Looks a great one, might go for it. Ours is on its last legs

Yep, that caveat is new to me too!

Would this be silent on fast spin, as got a washing machine what says super silent, yet when it spins fast its no where near silent..still makes lot of noise and its all level etc.

Anyway tempted to buy this even though I don't need a new machine, but like idea of steam wash etc

Gone for one. Doesn't mention disposal of old machine anywhere on the site. Just ask when they call to arrange delivery then? Any exta charge?

The Panasonic machine I have has a very quiet spin, very pleased with it

No extra charge. They don't offer it and don't seem overly happy when you ask but they do it. I think they have to.

Will agree a date about a week from now and then you'll get a call the day before with a two hour slot.

Also do let us know whether they install it as well. Thanks!

I'm having a spot of bother with the website (might be this old pc/internet connection..) Does anyone know if it's stackable please? Hoping to replace my rusty Hotpoint Aqualtis. Which is also Supersilent and can be heard spinning from the bottom of the street! (Even my 7 year old knows to avoid Hotpoint after the troubles we've had with them..)

Voted hot btw. Hoping to order one once the pc starts working a bit better!

I don't think they'll install. But you only have to remove the restraining bolts, plug it in and attach it to the cold supply...

They did ask what room I wanted it in so they'll take it wherever it needs to go and the old machine has to be disconnected for them to take it away.

my panasonic is very quiet

Give your old machine away on Gumtree if it works.
If it doesn't work, leave your old machine outside it will be gone in minutes or ring the local metal scrap man and they'll collect free of charge.
Old washing machines are actually worth money if they work or metal value as scrap.

I put our 14 year old last-legs Miele on Freecycle and had nine offers in 24 hours.

got this one last time hotukdeals.com/dea…001 and very happy with it. It is very quite, this one seems an equally good deal, with the bonus of larger drum and steam function (though only 1400, which should be fine, there is not much advantage in 1600 spin)

I work for an electrical retailer installing washing machines. If it was me i would stay away from panasonic washing machines. Out of all the washers we deliver and install (hotpoint, bosch, beko, meile and more) these are the most unreliable. I would suggest a bosch! Although if you don't mind it breaking down it does come with a 5 year guarantee

Cheapest 9kg (don't sell 10kkg) 1400 spin Bosch from John Lewis costs £624 plus £129 to extend the warranty to five years. Total cost is £753.

If I was buying something else I'd buy this Siemens with five year warranty. But it is only 7kg load and costs more than £100 more.

I have read that the Panasonic machines are a **** to fix but I don't care if I have a five year warranty with the manufacturer. Apparently it takes so long for an engineer to replace the drum bearings that Panasonic simply gives vouchers for a new machine. I quite fancy that.

ordered but now jstrat as me doubting, already have a good machine, but just wanted steam action , but if its a machine what goes faulty easy I cant be doing with that, never had it happen and really don't want it too, not even sure why I bought it just for a steam function , damm hot deals lol

But my current model sometimes don't get stains out well out of whites, I am hoping this does a much better job.

we have had a panasonic for 3years , great purchase, stopped working only once and when following error codes found filter to be blocked! Easy removal of 5p coin and fluff!! Been great since!
Great buy!!! Paid 499 on offer before without the steam and would def recommend Panasonic just read manual properly before using because most problems seem to be caused by operator error

I own some over 3 years old Panasonic washer, it was top model when I get it. still under warranty, nearly another 3 years left of it. No issues so far, very happy with it. in the other side, my brother bought some Samsung bubble wash one, it died after 3 months. My friend had to replace a drum belt on his Beko just after a year, it smelled like burning tire on spin cycle.

No worries. These are fantastic machines. Just read the manual properly - especially about the initial calibration. Most people don't bother, and its then that the balancing issues come in.

I have had my Candy washer/drier since 29/1/1995 (19 years) and its sill going strong, however I'm expecting this is fail at anytime and am considering this, although ideally I would have liked to have a combined washer/drier.

Washer/Driers are officially the most unreliable of white goods going. They are also relatively poor at drying as most use water as the cooling medium, and therefore have to run at a higher temperature than a normal drier. Also most will only dry 50% of their max washing capacity.

Looks an excellent deal. Very difficult to know about reliability, it's a new machine with a lot of new technology. I really don't think you can take much notice of brand reliability in the past, components and factories change all the time. Bosch and even Miele have made bad products. Looking at this specific model it's been on sale for at least 6 months and no huge problems. The 5 year warranty is important, and it looks like it's direct with Panasonic so it should work. Hotpoint for example use insurers like D&G with policies full of clauses and exclusions so after the first year you are realistically on your own if it packs up.

Gone for one - thanks OP!

Looks a good deal esp with the 5yr warranty, free delivery and removal of old machine

HOT!

as everyone's discussing other brands of machines I wouldn't recommend LG machines. My relation bought a top of the range LG washing machine and within the first year it needed repairing 3 times. Of course it was covered by the 1yr free warranty but she's worried if anything happens again as it's no longer covered.

Have read in the paper before (having a which? Comment) that Bosch brand has the most reliable record across all electrical devices

I would stick to Bosch as some comments did point out this make has been a bit of bother!

Is free removal of an old washing machine such a big selling point? I can get rid of one within the hour (look on facebook local pages there are always loads of scrappys willing to collect), personally I would salvage the drum first then scrap it as they make great planters or fire pits and are stainless steel so last for years.

Bought. Cheers OP. Super heat.

Will sell old one on Fleabay - hopefully

The worst thing I did was upgrade my 1994 Candy washer just because I was bored with it. It just wouldn't break! Nowadays I'd love to get chance to get bored of the washer before they break.

Eeeee....they don't make em like they used to!!

Agreed too that washer/driers are even worse than modern washers. My mother hasn't got past warranty stage on any of her washer driers before they've packed up. I'm stacking mine if I can (I have a condenser drier mind you, google says that's not a good thing to try and stack....)

Ordered awhile ago. No confirmation email yet! Is that normal?
