I think is not a bad price for a 8KG washing machine with 5 years warranty.

Looks a good price as I suspect it's a heat pumped one and has a great warranty.

Thought so! was gutted as I need a deal on a drier but all I seem to see is washing machines.
Hotpoint have decided my drier is a fire hazard and said I will get a free repair........IN JULY!

Never again will I buy hotpoint
Some would never again buy Panasonic;

My only personal experience is their AV equipment, none of which lasted more than 3 years.

Be wary of terrible Customer Service from Pansonic when things go wrong, 24 Sept. 2015

This review is from: Panasonic NA148VB6WGB 1400rpm Washing Machine 8kg Load Class A+++ (Misc.)
I have had a Panasonic washing machine for just over 2 years, and was initially happy with it. Unfortunately I have now been without a washing machine for two months due to the terrible service from Panasonic. They have sent the wrong parts a total of 4 times to their designated repair centre! The only way I am able to contact them is through emails, to which they will respond by email. There is no opportunity to speak to anyone regarding the issues and I feel very frustrated with the overall lack of service. Purchasing a Panasonic Washing Machine could be a very expensive mistake if anything does go wrong... I will never purchase a Panasonic item again after this experience and urge anyone to read all the negative reviews on Panasonic Items which will show the lack of customer service for Panasonic.

Thats not really fair. It's clear there was an issue here with the wrong part being supplied which was really inconvenient to the customer for this one review. You can get horror stories for all brands. Panasonic generally review very well.

reevoo.com/bro…nic

I've had my Panasonic for about 15 months and performs brilliantly. Also on that review was it Panasonic at fault or the local repair agent. I think Panasonic employ local repair companies for service so in one area it is possible the service agent has examined the washing machine and ordered the wrong parts and then blamed Panasonic. Ultimately it is the service engineer that will identify the parts needed and request them from Panasonic. They would normally have a code. Are Panasonic sending out different parts from those numbered in the service manual or were the part numbers incorrect. The bit Panasonic have to do is really easy they are given a code and they send out that part. The bit the service engineer has to do is much harder and much more likely to go wrong.

I'm pretty sure I've read stories before of people having problems with Samsung because they use local repair companies and the company concerned was very poor. Clearly Samsung should take responsibility for who they employ but it also means that such issues can be isolated to areas that employ that particular repair company.

Mine was also one of the affected dryers. They sent me an email last week advising the repair wouldnt be till May or I could buy a new model for £99 (RRP £299). That model didnt fit and the door opened the wrong way so I spoke to them and got a different model free of charge. It was delivered yesterday and they took the faulty one away. All in all I would say given mine was a 7 yr old machine they did pretty well. Why not call them and ask for a free replacement. They are swapping over 80,000 machines.
This LG 9kg load 1400 spin & 5 year warranty @ £349 much better alternative

They must know when it will burn your house down, so you're alright until July then :\
Panasonic have been sold to the lowest bidder. Junk brand now

Many of the former established brands have now turned to rot. Bosch, Hotpoint, Whirlpool, Candy, Zanussi etc are, brandwise, shells of what they used to be. I'd recommend Beko now, they had some issues several recalls in the past but have put these woes behind them. Have had a double door fridge and washing machine for over 4 years and still going strong. The washer gets 5-7 washes a week with 1400-1600 spins each time. I'm very impressed. Haier (who recently purchased the GE appliances business in the US) and Hisense are two other brands to look out for. Some on here might say Chinese crap, but the same was said of Xiaomi a few years ago. Can't ignore Chinese brands anymore.

1. There are around 8 million requiring repairs, do you think they will all get done in the next 2 weeks ?
2. You didnt buy a Hotpoint, you bought an Indesit with a Hotpoint badge on it.
3. The rebadged Indesit you bought is only having a recall due to them being taken over by Whirlpool, so its a little unfair to say you wouldn't buy one again when the new owner is far more safety conscious than the last one (although admittedly the new appliances will be just as crap in quality).
Panasonic washers have had a lot of problems and are a nightmare to work on, I believe the newer ones are rebadged Gorenje's.

You need an Android phone to take full advantages of the features, doesnt look like iOS is compatible....
Is the 5 year warranty parts & labour, or after 12 months is it parts only and subject to you using their repair service?

It was previously the high price Panasonic's were manufactured in China and had fairly poor reliability but still not as bad as indesit, candy, generic Chinese washing machines etc. Their new budget range is based on the premium Vestel models which have a very good reputation in Turkey where they are sold under their own brand.

However I have to agree with the LG comments. I paid about £240 for my Panasonic with a 5 year guarantee and the build quality is brilliant and has been faultless however at £350 I would definitely go with the LG offer despite the fact that LG have recalls and Panasonic never has for washing machines. At the time I bought my washing machine I think the cheapest option for LG was about £450 with a 5 year warranty almost double what I paid.

I think youll find that the previous high end Panasonic washers had an equally terrible failure record, couple that with the fact that they were incredibly difficult to repair and youll realise why the repair contract was dumped by not only GDHA but also JTM, the new ones or at least some of them ARE being made by Gorenje who also dont have the best reputation, I would avoid without a second thought.
wonder if these suffer with bearing issues. Our first panny VG3 bearing failed year and half, replacement VG4 is now suffering with the bearing going 2 years later and now I have to give them a ring as they cannot fix bearing 2 man job 4 hours work so replacement washer. Alot of bearing comments on ukwhitegoods site. Our VG3/4 always giving error values unbalanced spin, etc previous bosch classic was 12 years old which we inheritted and just did everything it was told to do was probably only carbon brushes to get it working again. I wouldnt buy a panasonic without a 5 year warranty.

Like my washing machine this model is definitely Vestel as the manual has 'printed in turkey' which is where Vestel are based. Gorenje are based in Slovenia. Unless Gorenje have factories in Turkey as well but on the Vestel site there are washing machines identical in spec for performance with only the electronic side varying with regard display and programs etc. The VB range all appear to be Vestel looking at the Panasonic range. The VG range appear to be Chinese made. Not looked at the others.

Possibly a good price,but, only 1400rpm spin!!!
Spend a little more on 1600 spin and save hundreds on drying time.
(Unless your an outdoor dryer of course)

Also worth pointing out this person has posted this negative review on just about all Panasonic washing machines on Amazon completely ruining the purpose of the review so its unclear which model they actually purchased.

Panasonic service is awful. Avoid avoid avoid!
You will need that 5 year warranty I have had nothing but trouble with Panasonic washing machines they look great but mine has been replaced and repaired more times than I can remember. The independent shop which Has few in the midlands where I got mine from stopped selling them because of people having problems with them. Mine is on its way out again the pump makes loads of noise when draining but it's out of warranty now. I used to fix white goods a long time ago and the parts are very pricey for these and the fix is normally a lot harder than other machines.

Which model do you have?

We know the chinese manufactured models have poor reliability but does this extend to the Turkish Vestel models. A large number of washing machines on the market are Vestel and like the other Turkish manufacturer Beko seem to have good reliability.

If you look here at Australia who because of location get the Chinese models mainly their reputation is very poor.
