Looks like a good deal for anyone in the market for a new Fridge Freezer. Mixed reviews online, although these appear to be for the older model.

Specs: panasonic.com/uk/…tml

Generally, in my experience, anything electrical from Panasonic is well engineered and well made, and usually commands a price premium. In this case, the original price seems OTT, but with 50% off (also 50% the 5 year extended warranty making it £867.50 with a 5 year warranty) it makes it cheaper than an equivalent model from Samsung.

Another plus point is the delivery cost, often for large items delivery can be £40+, especially to North East Scotland (it is still the UK mainland although many companies forget that) so kudos to PRC direct for delivery options starting at £9.99!

Fridge is quite good, but the water dispenser is a waste of time - runs slowly and the chilled water is warmer than it comes out of your tap!

Samsung are a better quality product and most of their products come with a 2 or 5 year warranty. currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/refrigeration/fridge-freezers/samsung-rsa1shpn-american-style-fridge-freezer-platinum-inox-12872199-pdt.htmlWith an extra £30 off.

I’ve owned many products of both brands and always held Panasonic in higher regard but if course normally dearer.
in my view 'plumbed in' and an ice dispenser are indispensable in a good fridge/freezer. In the long run you save a fortune, at least i have

I wouldn’t touch Panasonic appliances again. Had a few bad experiences in the past.
Is the back flame retardant?
I have had this fridge freezer for over 5 years. It’s great. Stopped dead a few months ago & only way to get it repaired was a local IT guy who fixed the motherboard. Wish I hadn’t wasted money on useless fridge repair guys who advised me to scrap it. Going perfectly again.
Panasonic have pulled out of white goods in the UK through cost and reliability issues. I had one of these and it failed just outside of the two year warranty. Retailer didn't want to know, so binned it and got a Samsung model which is going strong.
I bought a Neff American fridge freezer 2nd hand years ago, takes up half the kitchen and sounds like your standing in Tesco chiller department, wets itself a few times a day from the water dispenser all over the floor and costs the earth to run. We love it :-) Holds masses of food & beer. Maybe this Panasonic would make an ideal replacement?

I’d never buy a Samsung product over Panasonic..
Had ours for over 5 years. Best of a fridge tbh. Wouldn’t touch Samsung products with a barge pole. The bit where the ice rotates is dodgy tho, it wouldn’t automatically rotate like it should. £800 is a bargain.
I have this. They are huge.
Delivery guy dropped the first one and dented it.
They tried to deliver the same one again.
Third time lucky!

I now would buy a separate freezer and refrigerator if making the same decision again.
Filters are super expensive. I did not install the water connector as I do not have a convenient water supply close by.
It is a struggle to get it inside and imagine if you need want to redo your floor.

I paid less than this 3 years ago. Only idiots who buy from John Lewis would believe this is a real half price deal.
Lesser known brands cost less than £500, so c£1600 at "full" price is a joke.

I do not view this as a good deal as I paid less 3 years ago! I paid £776.91 after Panasonic cashback and and even less when I factor Quidco cashback.

Why does it need to be plumbed in? Mines non plumbed and works fine... Just has a water tray in the fridge.... And ice storage in the freezer

Lots of people get good John Lewis deals as this site will attest.

Did he switch it off and on to fix it?

one word, convenience
Just a word of warning on warranty. As mentioned earlier, Panasonic have pulled out of the white goods market. I have extended warranty on my washing machine until mid 2019. They sent someone to fix it from an independent white goods store. He broke the machine then blamed me. Panasonic aren’t interested and are also pointing the finger at me. It’s the circulation pump that’s faulty, works intermittently. Apparently it was fine before he touched even though it took 2 months for them to come out to it. Where is the logic in that? I report a faulty pump 2 months before and then he turns up to replace it but then breaks it entirely... Customer service staff have zero sympathy and struggle to talk any sense.

Couldn’t disagree more, never get a Samsung fridge again = poor quality but good looks, plain & simple a terrible brand that try’s to cover what’s inside.
