Not a bad price for half-decent earphones for commuting or running. If they get damaged no big loss.

Had lots in stock in Tesco Sandhurst in blue and red.

£5 listings at Amazon are out of stock, in stock listings currently at ~£7.40 (also on ebay)

Pretty sure OP said this, think they also mentioned OOS?

There's a load of sports headphones reduced half price in my local Tesco - panny, JVC, Sony... nearly got these ones but reviews weren't great (keep falling out) but was still tempted as a spare.

2 ears, but these things tend to break easily

Bad reviews.

Maybe bad reviews based on £7-10 could be more favourable at £5?

For me was worth a punt and I used them on my run today. Did not fall off, however they are very light. The ear plugs are adjustable (on a slider) so I was able to get a good fit. They are not sound-isolating but not expected for £5. Sound quality was good for me but I am easily pleased

Thought I should add my son's views for balance. He compared it against his regular Sennheiser OCX set. He said the Panasonic RP-HS34 was a world better than the poundland headphones but really not worth more than £5.

He was most annoyed that the Panasonic set did not fit tight enough into the ears so you are losing a lot of sound, especially the bass. When I held the Panasonic tighter in my ears I immediately noticed a vast improvement in sound. His Sennheiser had good sound without needing to hold them in (and so they should, they cost 10x more!).

So there we have it. Seems this Panasonic set is only worth the £5, probably only good for running/sports but not as your main music earphones. I will be keeping my set until they die then maybe get something a bit better.

Thanks for the info sqsq, useful comparison.
Earphones for running are a difficult thing - if they're tight enough they don't fall out and give good sound, but the noise isolation (I feel) can be dangerous and you also 'hear' every footfall through your body. Conversely, enough space to allow some sound from outside and prevent that transmitted inner sound means they're likely to fall out and the sound is poorer for it.
I think that's the design rationale behind these with hooks, trying to get a good middle ground.

Of course, for gym use the above doesn't apply so much (though still got to watch out for that impact sound transmission if on the treadmill)

Marked at £10 in my Tesco, but scanned at £5. Sound quality is nothing amazing, but fine for running and the gym.
