I have one of these and its great. I would
hate to have to go back to shop bought
bread.

I was tempted to get a breadmaker but somebody told me the "paddle" in them which stirs the dough round isn't fully removed from the bread before it's baked, so you end up with a hole in the loaf. This doesn't sound right to me, but can anyone confirm if it's true?!
Hot deal by the way, I have read Panasonic breadmakers are the best ones.

I opted for the ]SD-255 for £79.99 instead.

The paddle is left in place while the bread is baked - that's the price you pay for having a machine that mixes and bakes. In the panasonic the paddle has (for me at least) always stayed with the bowl - not the bread.

So far so good. I've done a basic whit ebread and a 5-seeded wholemeal loaf both of which turned out very well.

it does but if that's an issue you could use it only for dough then bake in oven as normal. but to be honest the hole isn't that large and only affects one or 2 slices.

You wouldn't worry about the hole marks once
you had tasted how fabulous the bread is.
