Fantastic Camcorder at a wonderful Price - This one is from Panasonic, top of the line SD700 series.

This one has decent reviews, and is a good camcorder for anyone considering a Camcorder purchase. :-)

Almost tempted myself, waiting for a price drop on Sony HDR-XR series myself.

Nice camcorder... shame about the price :-)

Need to find a good HD camera for my hols in Turkey this year. ATM im looking at the SD60, although only 1080i, but that one seems to have good reviews all round. Would LOVE something like this... but id have to get a refund on the wife's airfair in order to even think about purchasing lol !

PS the 27% discount is rubbish ! Looking at the price most stores have this for around the £670 mark anyway. Another sale con from Amazon.

I have the panasonic SD10 and its absolutely amazing...... 1080i (not p) but the results are absolutely stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you fancy the SD60 then you can also get a free 32gb sd card with it at the moment.
Get a demo instore and then fill in the form on panasonics site to get either a 10% rebtae or a free 32gb card - makes it a nice deal if you can get decent instore price

Im also lloking for a good price hd cam any recommendations ?

dounavilla the SD60 from Amazon seems the best deal atm. Comes with a free £30 Amazon voucher to buy extras... like a decent Transcend 16gb Class 10 SDHC ;-) Like i said before the reviews on it seem to be excellent. For £340 seems like the best buy... unless youve got £500+ to spend :-)

There are 3 options

a) The best (debatable) - Sony HDR -XR520 or XR550 series

b) Damn good picture quality(lousy OIS - very shaky picture if you have shaky hands) - Canon HFS21 / HFS11

c) Panasonic TM700/SD700 - Good balance between picture quality and stabilization.

My Personal choice is Sony HDR-XR550

I've found Sony appauling in the past for compatability and then need for their own software so don't purchase any Sony products any more.
if you don't want to spend this much then the results from the SD10 are absolutely stunning and FAR good enough for a non professional.... ok so the digital stills are a wee bit on the megapixel-less side, but hey, I've got a camera for that!

thanks for all your replys peeps very helpfull !

Hughes electrical with stores in east anglia (www.hughesdirect.co.uk) have the SD60 for £339
Whilst this is the same price as amazon, because it is a high street store then panasonic will give you either 10% cashback or a free 32GB sd card (the better option) when you print and return their online claim form. My local John Lewis were happy to pricematch this so £339 gives me the camcorder, sd card and 2 year warranty. Cant really go wrong!
