The 28mm* wide-angle is especially convenient for recording indoors or in tight spaces. It makes it possible to shoot at a close distance from the subject while fitting both the subject and the surrounding area into the frame. The Intelligent Zoom incorporates the Image Processing LSI 'Crystal Engine PRO,' a super-high resolution technology to achieve ultra-telephoto 40x shooting beyond the optical zoom range of 21x. This brings faraway subjects right up close to capture dynamic images that fill the entire frame.* 35mm camera equivalent. 1,080/50p recording (Full-HD, 1,920 x 1,080, 50 progressive recording) at a 28-Mbps bit rate conveys about twice the information of 1,080i (interlace) recording to produce the ultimate in image quality, exceeding even conventional Full-HD images. It minimizes afterimages and flickering caused by subject motion, and renders crisp, detailed images. Enjoy the superbly smooth images, intricate details and ultimate beauty of 1,080/50p recording (Full-HD 1,920 x 1,080, 50 progressive recording).

If you can afford the extra £95, then that is by far a better camera. 3MOS gives so much more. £400 is over the top for the SD90 anyway. But if the 3d lens is a must for your package, I guess the price is reasonable.

The sd800 or the sd90?

sd800

If anyone is considering the SD90 - go for the SD800!!!!!

If I hadn't recently found myself a bargain SD60, I would jump at this, even though skint!

The problem with the SD800 is its basically an SD90 with 3cmos, time lapse function and very little else. Whilst the SD900 which is the next step up is an SD800 with 5.1 channel sound, lens ring and a whole host of other stuff. The SD800 is a very basic version of that range of cameras which is a shame.

I bought an SD90 last week after checking out both cameras for a long time seeing if paying a bit more was worth it but i found the sd90 gave just as good picture quality (sometimes better in certain situations) and was a LOT smaller and lighter.
