A great price and good reviews for this Panasonic SDR-S7EB-K camcorder from Amazon at only £136.77

The new SDR-S7 is a stylish model with an ultra-compact, go-anywhere design. It offers a small size, light weight and superb mobility made possible by SD/SDHC Memory Cards, letting you shoot video with the same casual ease and carry-about convenience they enjoy with small digital still cameras. For occasions when in the past it may have seemed a bit awkward to pull out a camcorder, such as on short outings or business trips, the SDR-S7 is ideal..

The Quick Start function allows the S7 to begin recording just 0.6 second from the time the LCD is opened and this around a third of the time that it takes for a camcorder that records onto DVD discs to start, making it easier to catch those special moments that come with no warning. All in clear MPEG2 DVD quality.

Convenient for travellers, the new world timer function eliminates the need to manually reset the camcorder time when crossing time zones. Simply select your destination from the displayed map, and the time is adjusted automatically. Time can be set for two different locations, such as home and a destination. The user can switch between them by simply pressing a button.

Memory Cards provide an ideal combination of compactness, impact resistance, and extended recording capability, making them one of the best-balanced media for the future. The 16GB SDHC Memory Card allows up to approx 13 hours 20 minutes in LP mode recording.

I listed this when I bought one a couple of months ago for £145, I took it to Valencia for the MotoGp and I was concerned about battery life but it lasted the day. One big issue which probaby all of these cameras suffer from to some degree or another is how difficult it is to sight your picture in daylight as you only have the screen. It is also a tiny little thing which fits into a pocket very nicely but this only serves to make it a bit more difficult to handle.
Quality of the movies are okay but dont expect to make the follow up to Lord of the Rings! :-D

Bang goes the Busby Berkeleyesque extravaganza I had planned.:)

I am interested in this. Anyone know how it would hold up against the Kodak Zi6 HD camcorder. I know this one is not HD but it packs a decent zoom which the Kodak does not and looks a little more usable. Just want to know how picture quality compares.

Hmmm, that looks a pretty good camera which I hadn't seen before, although it does look more like a camera phone then a camcorder. It does seem to get some good feedback though.
