OH MY GOD!
sonicdirect.co.uk/Pla…ect

I've just spotted that Sonic Direct have the TV on sale for £799.99 but they price match Currys, and offer double the differance plus a 5 year warranty if bought in store.

Our Lowest Price Guarantee Why are our prices so low?

At SonicDirect.co.uk we take great care ensuring that we supply you with only the very best products at the best prices. As a member of Europe's largest electrical retail buying group, CIH, our prices to you reflect a buying power in excess of £500m. We are also able to source fast moving high-demand products at low low prices.

In fact, we're so confident of our great prices that we back it with our no quibble Lowest Price Guarantee. If you purchase any product from us and within 7 days from the date of purchase you find the same items advertised and in stock at a lower price at a Currys, Comet or Argos store only, we will refund you double the difference!!

Please note that the Lowest Price Guarantee only applies if, in our opinion, the following conditions are met.

1. The product must be from a Currys, Comet or Argos store (i.e. does not include website offers)
2. The two products must be identical.
3. The price must be inclusive of VAT and any additional charges (e.g. delivery).
4. The item must be brand new and not reconditioned, end of line or returned stock.
5. This must be the normal price of the item i.e. it isn't in a sale or on special offer.
6. You must provide sufficient information to enable us to verify the price ourselves.
7. Price promise only applies to goods available in the UK.

Not sure about the bit I've highlighted in BOLD though. So by my calaculations

Currys price - £549 Sonic - £799.99

Diff = £250.99

Final price is £298.01

I almost wet myself when I saw this, then realised it's the non 3D model. Nice price though. No way will sonic direct sell you this TV for £300; they will wangle their way out of it somehow!
No way they will do 'pricematch' like that. And no-one will spend his time, effort and money to go the legal way.
Point 5 may be the killer,:( Still currys price is pretty good IMO
Wow so tempted to get this, don't care about 3D just worried this might be a little too big for my lounge!!! Really after a 42" but for this bargain price i maybe swayed
excellent deal, I have previous model p50g20b bought year ago from JL with 5 years guarantee and its great tv. p5030b for this price £550 is like a bargain, hot hot hot
It's price match the same product, whilst its free, you would have to add a 5 year warranty onto the currys price before matching. 3 years is £169
This is where the double the difference comes into play, not on buying it beforehand:

"If you purchase any product from us and within 7 days from the date of purchase you find the same items advertised and in stock at a lower price at a Currys, Comet or Argos store only, we will refund you double the difference!!"
This was posted yesterday by "YouveBeenServed". Where has it gone? And why has it gone?

And why does it say "HD Ready" in the title when it's "Full HD"?

Questions, questions...

Read the t&c for price match and price promise.'Must be normal selling price and not in a sale' so no chance.

Not sure this is totally true, as the ST/GT and VT models all use the same panel - which includes additional picture technology not available with the G/S models (ie. infinite black pro). The G30 is definitely currently the best Panasonic non-3D screen though (presumably until the new 50 models come out shortly), and it includes DLNA/THX features not available on the ST30 but available on the much more expensive GT30 model.

If 3D isn't desired, then this TV seems like a good buy, but in theory, the picture should be better on a ST30, even without the THX mode available...

Good challange - in reality it's probably fair to say they're both very good in their own right - just depends on your needs.
OK people , can someone tell me if this has freesat hd as i cant see it anywhere, which confuses me as the g10/g20 has?
Just had call from Currys, Out of stock now

That is a different model.

It doesn't have FreeSat HD. It has FreeView HD. I don't think FreeSat was particularly popular, which is why I guess they've changed it.

Oh yes, sorry tired eyes

Just had call from Currys, Out of stock now

Did you place an order then they phoned up to tell you? As someone else has mentioned its still displaying as in stock. Cheers.
Hmmmm decesions decisions, I know **** all about TVs but I like this price, I am not one bit interested in 3D malarkey but I want the best picture quality for this price so...
Richer sounds has the PANASONIC VIERA TXP50ST30 at £692 inc 5 yr GT and John Lewis has the
PANASONIC VIERA TXP50S30 for £549 inc 5 yr GT and free delivery. Now I do not mind paying the richer sounds price but my question to you knowledgable people is ... Is the richer sound tv a better picture quality tv or am I paying for the 3D part that I have no interest in
The tv will only be used as a monitor as I have full home cinema and HDMI equipment feeding it, I like the idea of iplayer and YouTube ect ect , so what is my best option
Over to you
Just ordered it and had confirmation from Currys of delivery on Sunday 5th February, will post back if anything changes.
Does anyone know if Currys will dispose of your old TV (for a small charge). I know JL: do this for £9, and Comet for £10

Also if you "don't like" Currys/PC World or Dixons then why not buy from Comet @ £900+ then get them to price match. As long as it's showing in stock on line they will oblige. (Just another option)

the st30 apparently has dynamic changing brightness issues and green blobs apparently to do with restrictions eu regulations have on power inputs

the other one i was interested in was the lg cinema tv's the lw450, 550, 650 range but they have problems too

damn it all to hell

There are complaints about all the 2011 Panasonic 3D series (ST, GT and top end VT) but I am sure many people are also happy with their TV and can either live the issue or don't even notice it. Loud fan noise and plasma hum are other common complaints for at least the ST30 model - although again many people say they don't have the issues...

The ST30B including 2 pairs of 3D glasses has just dropped 15 quid to around 615 on Amazon today... Still a lot of money for a TV, but in this case it is 50", uses the same base technology as the top-end VT series, is 3D capable AND includes 2 pairs of 3D glasses.

Having said all that, the TV was 650 a few weeks ago (excluding glasses), 630 yesterday, 615 today - who knows what it will be tomorrow...
Wow, £30 cheaper than my G20 last April.

No hum/whine (not even on an all white screen which is supposed to be when it's worst) & no big heat output either.

Brilliant HD TVs.

Mine arrived today. Smashed polysterene corner started ringing alarm bells. When I removed the TV the bezel was cracked and detached from the TV, and the back metal plate was bent out of shape. Bloody Currys. Not the first time they've delivered a box of scrap metal to my front door.

Just got back in, checked and it's instock online at Currys, so called Sonic back to order. They now won't price match as they offer a 5 year warranty and the Currys deal is not like for like.

Ok I'll have it without the extended warranty, when I put this to Sonic they're now claiming it;s out of stock in their store.

I'd stay clear of this company for this or future purchases.
