If your interested in getting a good deal on that particular model then checkout the link below. I personally believe that overall the John Lewis deals offer good value.

The description on the Dixons site is misleading - according to the review on the site below it does have a Freeview digital tuner and Fastext and can be had cheaper at various other sellers - see the Kelkoo link below

The trouble with John Lewis is that they say " never knowingly undersold " which is a load of rubbish . For the last few months people have tried to get them to price match local stores & allsorts of barriers are being put up to stop it in its tracks , even price matches allowed have not been instigated instore .

Their TV is £177 dearer than Dixons so how can it be a good deal ?

Panasonic are giving away at the moment a free 5 yr warranty at any of their dealers , the prices at these dealers are less than JL !!

I just wasn't aware of the Panasonic warranty ... that's all. And given the cost of these items thought that the percieved John Lewis "extended" warranty was worthwhile. If it's like for like then you're right and it's obviously not worth paying £177 more for exactly the same h/w & warranty deal.

it comes up more expensive on the site - dont know how this is?

It's because, in common with an ever increasing number of "e-tailers", they automatically add a scart cable and charge you £9.99 for the privilege.

No , only dedicated Panasonic dealers , definitely NOT internet shops . All you need to do is phone your local dealer & ask what is his best price ? In 4 attempts at calling , 3 dealers matched the best price on the internet BUT you had to go to the shop to view & buy , its a stipulation of the offer .

I paid £797 with 5yr warranty for mine , cracking TV

Mine is the pedestal version, i dont like the stand it looks aweful IMO.

I got it from Downtown , they have a double the difference price promise thats how i got it for £797 with 5 year warranty 2 months back now.

oldrids.co.uk/sto…asp

where did you compare the price for downtown?

Pricematched with John Lewis Peterborough who were selling for £999, DT were selling for £1199 so double the difference £400 off £1199:thumbsup:

Is this always guaranteed to work or can you get a miserable sales person. Looking on Empire Direct they say something about the 5 year warranty only for exclusive members.

If you are going to wall hang the plasma then go for the £749.99 delivered offer at Laskys

Its £799, 5 year. Price matched, but John Lewis may charge for delivery £30 as Empire Direct don't give you that free to square their offer. I'm going to have a look around tomorrow.

No chance they'll be in stock here in Liverpool with the Champions League final is my guess but I'll have to see.
