Cracker. lol

I've been looking at getting one of these panasonic tx-l50blw6, these are £450 in my local B&M (Grimsby) my mum bought one couple of months ago, I was a bit dubious of a branded 50 inch TV from there for under £500 I thought it'll l be plasma or hd ready but they are full hd led smart TV with a good picture quality

Do all panasonic smart tvs now have itv, c4 etc...?

Dus this av eastenders on hd?

This model was one of the TV's I was thinking about buying, but after doing some research I was reading bad reviews about the smart hub not having ITVplayer, 4OD or 5OD and you have to access these through Panasonics system of 'Freeview'. This system was also not reviewed well, with some claiming that its a crap system due to being so slow to load.

Meant to say 'Freetime'.... not Freeview.

id never buy anther panasonic, unless they put catchup channels on them.. aka no 4on demand

I recently bought this from Richer Sounds and I am really impressed with the picture quality. I've got Youview, so the Smart TV options aren't massively useful to me, but I did notice a lack of catch up TV apps (ITV, 4OD). That said, when I had a play around with some of the settings, I didn't find it at all sluggish. Anyway, for £399 I'd definitely recommend it.

Can you not download catchup apps?

This TV does have all the catch up services and you don't have to go via free time. You do have to update the software when you get the tv though to enable them all. Trust me, I have this tv.

You get Iplayer, ITV, C4 and C5 on demand services, this is one of the major steps forward with Panasonic sets this year.

Apparently this version on displays football.

BTW if its more convenient for anyone, Richersounds do same deal with 5yr warranty

depends if you want a smart tv or not, neither of these are smart. Out of the 2 I would go Sammy. Toshiba aren't the brand they used to be.

Thanks for the reply.
Smart isn't important to me as I will get a chromecast and its for the Xbone.

So if Smart isnt an issue, the Samsung is the one to get? Any other recommendations?

Thanks!

I bought the 32 inch version for a friend and it does have all of the on demand services (BBC, ITV, C4, C5) on one of the home screens. It's not slow and even has wifi and screen mirroring built in. I'm really impressed and thinking of getting the 42 inch version for myself, probably will now that the price has dropped ( was £430 when I saw it in JL last Thursday.

a mate has this tv from very - and we can not set any reminders at all. its a missing feature.

lovely picture too , but I would suggest other tvs

Strange that I was seeing the same bad reviews for this tv from different people, even from some posters on this site.

Not a bad price with a five year guarantee have some heat.

I think the mixed reviews are probably the result of Panasonic not having the TV set up for the full catch up services. You have to update the TV software and then update the freetime separately. Nothing much in the instructions to say this, I found it by trial and error but once done its a great TV. I think the bad reviews are from peeps who haven't done the update or realised they need to do one.

what does "A simulated 100Hz refresh rate" mean?
its not really 100hz?

Yes, looks like that must be the case...... At the time I was looking, this TV was £430 at JL and I asked them to price match somewhere at £399, but they wouldn't do it. If it had been £399 then, I probably would have bought it if I'd known it just needed updates.
Not that it matters now, as I bought a Sammy in the end.

I was looking at this and the AS640, but reports of motion judder put me off, and I ended up getting a H6400

Same price at Argos minus the 5yr Guarantee.

So is that a better deal at the same price without the 5 year guarantee ?

Thanks. I thought I was missing a really significant point for a minute ;-)

100hz dont know if it is any good for gaming

The 32" version is the same price, which is inexplicable (and annoying if you want a 32"...)

Can someone please tell me how I can get C4 running on this? I bought this from Richer sounds a few weeks ago when it was the same price.

so this is very good buy ?

is this the best kind if led tv ?

Ordered one of these 4/9, JL were supposed to ring within two days to arrange delivery-they didn't. I rang after three days and was told it had been delivered 5/9-not true.Couldn't access their tracking as it refused to accept the correct postcode. After much to-ing and fro-ing delivery now 18/9 take it or leave it. So much for the promised delivery time of 7 working days max. First time I've used JL and for all the hype I'm not impressed.

just checked, Panasonic is running five years warranty if you claim from their trusted retailers including currys and argos
