I don't know much about Panasonic TV's. Do you think this would be worth a shot or hold out until BF?

Panasonic tv’s are solid got 2 One is nearly 10 years old 1080p 3D tv other is about 4 years 4k 3d tv both are very impressive and mid-top of the range. If I was to buy another stick with those range/series and not entry level Panasonic tv. After a bit of research the fx650 is entry level tv, this is below that and prob be ok for a second tv or if your not too bothered about spec and gaming
Good price for a panny still

Avoid! This and similar models have a poor write up.

The only thing this TV has in common with your Panasonic's of yesteryear is the name. This TV is not manufactured by Panasonic, its not even designed by them. Its made in Turkey by Vestel, the same people who make supermarket TV's like Polaroid, Techwood etc. You can often find the same TV with a different name on it for less, Techwood TV's from AO as an example - they're all the same internally.

For clarity; only the 300 and 400 ranges are Vestel. The rest are still manufactured by Panasonic. Not sure about this one, I know the rule was 600 and above are Panasonic so maybe this is Vestel too.

I got the 50AX802B about 4 years ago I think and the 65EX750B a year ago. Both are superb TVs. Definitely prefer the solid metal remotes of the older models to the cheap plastic ones they give now.

This one is a vestel. The rest of the FX range above this are made by Panasonic
Very interesting comments. I could nit find reviews on this.the line up said 6000 series was their entry level so no idea on 500 series. So if not a real panasonic then makes sense... Except that is terrible terrible marketing.

Economics, they don't make much money on their cheaper sets so they've farmed them out to the cheapest bidder, Vestel. Sad to think loyal Panny customers will be tricked into buying an inferior product (compared to real Panasonic manufactured TV) That's how Toshiba ruined their TV business. You can buy a 4K Techwood 43AO6USB for £259 from AO, essentially its the same as this Panasonic, same chassis, £90 cheaper just no HDR - which is a moot point on budget TV's anyway.

this should be illegal if I’m buying Panasonic I want a tv made by Panasonic , I don’t mind parts being from different places like how they make cars

Vestel have their place, supermarket own brands for example but a Panasonic (premium) badge on a generic Vestel chassis is a disgrace – but sadly legal.
