--------

One per household/customer

With the emphasis on offering great value for money, the Panasonic TX50AS500B also delivers in terms of picture quality and smart functionality.

LED PANEL WITH 100HZ BLB

Whatever you watch, it's hard not to be impressed by the quality of the Panasonic TX50-AS500B screen. This Panasonic uses a high quality LED screen to give the best possible results. Using an LED screen means that this TV isn't just slim, it also boasts a superb contrast ratio, making blacks appear deeper than ever and whites shine brightly. Also standard is 100Hz BLB (Back Light Blinking). This means that when watching action movies or sports programmes, the TX50AS500B has the speed and clarity to keep up with the action without motion blur.

SPACIOUS SOUND

In addition to offering a superb picture quality, the Panasonic TX50AS500B also offers good sound quality. The built-in 20 watt amplifier provides a full-bodied sound quality. V-Audio is also on hand to produce a more spacious, surround sound effect. There are also both analogue (via headphones) and optical digital audio outputs; allowing you to easily improve the sound quality via a home cinema system or soundbar/base.

COMPREHENSIVE NETWORKING WITH BUILT-IN WI-FI

When it comes to connecting up, the TX50AS500B has got everything you'd expect from a modern smart TV. Featuring a Freeview HD tuner, the TX-50AS500B is ideal for making the most of High Definition TV. VIERA Connect brings together a host of features that make this much more than 'just' a TV. Stream video, photos and music from another source, such as your PC, via DLNA. Alternatively, use the Application-based browser to view shopping based functions, social media Apps and catch-up TV channels. There is also a web browser, letting you surf the web on the big screen with ease. A USB interface lets you enjoy music from many different file types via the dedicated media player. With such a comprehensive networking ability, it's good to see that the TX50AS500B gives you the choice of connecting by either Ethernet or the built-in wi-fi.

SWIPE AND SHARE PLUS MY HOME SCREEN

As standard the TX50AS500B comes with Swipe and Share and My Home Screen functionality. Swipe and share lets you use the Panasonic VIERA 2 app for smartphone media sharing. By using the app on your smartphone or tablet you can easily stream pictures, videos and music straight to the TV - no cables required! My home screen allows different users to personalise the home screen as they choose, for a bespoke user experience. Another great new feature is Remote Sharing. This lets you use your Apple or Android smartphone to send video memos or text messages to the TV's my Home Screen, from outside home - perfect for keeping in touch!

Offering the perfect balance of features, quality and value, the Panasonic TX50AS500B is a great all-rounder.

Good old Richer sounds.

The link to the review at tech rader is for the 42" model. Also only 50hz. But good price for a decent 50" Smart TV.

didnt realise that.... corrected the link.

Anyone have any idea how this is for gaming! Looking for a new tv and was considering a Sony but as the Sony tvs don't have vesa support they wouldn't suit my vesa bracket stand or would I be better to go for the samsung 6400 55"?

love richersounds...

Would it be correct to mention the 'V'* word?

After looking at the new uhd 4k tv's yesterday in store i refuse to buy a new led tv until the price of the 4k comes down, there is just no comparison, the 4k tv and soccer is a new experience it is like being there and watching live, the picture is way way better than a normal full hd tv it is phenomenal, and this is why the price of these older 1080 tv's are dropping so fast they need to get rid of old stock before everyone relieses the 1080p screens are rubbish compared to uhd screens.I was looking for a new 55" tv but will wait for a year or so until the prices drop and i can afford a 4k tv. Do yourself a favour and check them out at pcworld/currys..

Free platinum HDMI cable.... LOL

Heat for the rest of the deal though op

Meh. It depends

Meh, it depends on how much 4k content you watch. We mainly watch freeview or freeview HD. Which I think top out at 720p or 1080i perhaps. So I'm not sure how 4k would help!

I suppose if you stream a lot of videos and pay extra for the 4k streaming then a 4k telly would be useful. But for most people they simply won't watch much 4k if any before they purchase a new TV 5 years later!

Tempted

Looks a good deal to me!

Soccer? Really? ( shakes head in disgust)

Is the panel only 50Hz on this?

Only 2 hdmi..that can't be correct can it?

Budget set, best to avoid. When you see 2 hdmi it means keep looking for another set.

Soccer? SOCCER???

No football fan uses that word.

Soccer-ball is awesome to watch on a 4k TV. I love chillin' with a few brewskies and a bag of chips while watching the Champions' Cup Series. Go Reds! Score for the team!

I'll close the door after me.

Nothing wrong with calling football soccer. It's a good, old-fashioned english word after all todayifoundout.com/ind…er/

Wrong....Vestel now produce some TV's that ship Panasonic badged under license. Look at Panasonic A300 series....

However I believe this TV is not a Vestel model

A group of people will post:
- Samsung screen is rubbish on a Samsung TV deal
- Panasonic screen is rubbish on a Panasonic TV deal
- Sony screen is rubbish on a Sony TV deal
- LG screen is rubbish on a LG TV deal

Based on that no TV is good... or they all are good enough.

My advice would be to read reviews of the model you are about to buy. There is no rule of thumb about which company's TV are always going to be good, as every company makes cheaper models as well.

Thanks for the confirmation. As a 'panny' fan I was a bit stunned when I found out some panels were vestel.
Out of interest, where's the best place for info on vestel/panasonic panels?

I already have a TV, but this one looks like a nice TV but I already have one. Good deal.

Just ordered, thanks was after a new TV, we only have 37inch, so this is a big jump up for us. Great price too.

does this tv have a full backlight LED or only edge lit?
