Just got this from last week from John Lewis £499, with a a five year warranty. It looks like this one only has a 12 month warranty. You can get the same TV on Panasonics ebay store for £399 with a 12 month warranty too. I know this as I almost bought it. Decided to go with John Lewis only for the warranty and service.
And this is exciting because of what?

Absolute rubbish deal!!... John Lewis offer same tv at £499, and so do Currys! More expensive you thinking? ...
I'm thinking 5 year guarantee at John Lewis! Please do your research before putting any old rubbish on here, trigger happy fingers!

you may save a little paying upfront, but in a year or two you may have no tv.
led tvs are so unreliable in terms of screen build, why gamble a good £449 for a little discount.
Be sensible, John Lewis it upfront
p.s. would possibly consider ebay if it comes with a new mistress in the box for 12 months (minimum)!
And would she be insured for accidental damage? 14 days cool off period? lol

In the same situation as you! Seems to be a lot of people with problems with them but the price is very good! Still hoping the Sony's will drop in price..

I ordered this and then saw this Sony deal. Think I'd prefer android platform. Hopefully it will return. I'll probably leave the price match.

Price matched against whom?

Curry's a couple of weeks ago with a code. It was posted on here but expired now I think. I got JL to price match. I don't want it now but a good deal nevertheless.
Just yesterday I picked up the 40" model of this TV in John Lewis, ex-display with full 5 year warranty for £299.

Not sure if I'm keeping it.

If you play blu-rays/24p content, it can't do it without 24p judder. I'm playing with every setting under the sun to see if I can get rid of it. This is the biggest weakness I've come across so far and it is easily a deal breaker for me.

Viewing angles drop off dramatically (like most VA panels) but I may be able to live with this over poor blacks from an IPS panel (which have better viewing angles).

If none of these things matter to you, maybe this'll do you, but I personally would never ever buy a modern budget TV without a five year warranty behind it.

Same put off by all the motion blur issues and think i would prefer an IPS panel.

IPS may give you better viewing angles, but the black levels are rarely as good as VA panels. Turning off nearly every bit of processing possible has helped the 24p judder issues (not sure it's entirely erased it) and I'm quite literally getting this TV up on the wall to test with bog standard Freeview and other sources to see how the motion fares...

Trouble is, getting something that performs a lot better means a bigger outlay. But I'd still rather wait for something that exhibits less issues without having to spend a week turning off everything possible to see if it can be improved.

Thankfully John Lewis have (as far as I know) a relatively good returns policy. Even on ex-display/opened bargains.

Bought this TV with the JL price match at £439 the other day, verdict is for the money this is a great TV. Still playing around with the best settings but no issue with the picture and all and not experienced any motion blur as yet.

What's wrong with this guy?!
Currys had a code the other day which brought this TV down to £439. Some of us were successful in getting JL to pricematch where people who submitted later were unsuccessful. It was this exact model and size.

Apologies - just spotted it! Was £439 and not £349 (I wish though!)

You sound like a right tool. The fact you commented on someone else’s grammar when yours is diabolical just topped it all off
Good bedroom TV maybe
