I have the C9 but, sincerely believe you wouldn't be disappointed in either.

I only opted for the C9 over this as it became available at a bargain price. It is by far the best TV I've ever owned.

Both TV's have their own merits and if you aren't able to see them both or side by side, maybe this will help you - flatpanelshd.com/new…962

Whichever you opt for, enjoy !

Heat for the deal.

agree, but good sign also. all the cost is in screen quality rather than shiny frames etc... go for the GZ1000 if you want cool stand at hughes direct for 1350 delivered

1. Does the c9's soundbar sound noticeably different to the b9's ordinary speakers?

2. I couldn't see a difference between the alpha 7 vs alpha 9 video processors... Assuming that you have compared the b9 vs c9, do you see a difference?

The C9 also has speakers and not a soundbar I'm afraid. I believe you're thinking of the E9.

EDIT; Just to confirm, that thing that looks like a soundbar under the C9 is in fact a deflector for the internal, downward firing speakers and also doubles as the stand.

And I can't really comment on the speakers either as I never use a TV's internal speakers. I have an Atmos 5.2.2 set-up with an Onkyo receiver.

With regard the processor, I haven't seen the B9 and C9 side by side myself but, suggest you watch this video from Vincent. He knows his stuff -

You're very welcome.

If it were me buying again, I'd find it very hard to choose between the Panasonic in this deal and the C9.

And they'd be the only two TV's I'd be considering in any size. They are pound for pound the best value, best image on screen TV's you can buy right now.

Good luck.
We bought the Panasonic two weeks ago & absolutely love it. We also were looking at the C9. Both are great TV's.
The Panasonic just edged it for us & very happy with our purchase

the GZ1000 is also available at Costco but online only at the moment, price is higher (£1450) but I think this will come down once they have got rid of their GZ950 stock.
GZ950 has went up in price, it was £1079.98 inc two weeks ago.
