That gets my vote - as the ugliest stand I've ever seen...

Forgot to mention that it comes with free next day delivery, mine is being delivered tomorrow.

Great price for this TV may be a 2016 model which they carried over to 2017 but still. A great TV

I wanted one last year but they were way out of my price range, then thought there will be a 2017 model but only a month ago realised these will be carried on for the next year.
Been waiting for this to drop in price and this is the lowest a major retailer offered ever as it’s hard to beat the quality for price. Comes with sound bar, true 10 bit panel HDR 3D and 5 year’s guarantee.

I had been waiting for this but ended up getting a Sony which was at this price during Black Friday. Had I had an idea that they would be dropping this I would have waited. Oh well - a great Panasonic made panel. Too bad they will be using LG Panels on newer models (if not already on the EX range)
Had this TV poor source handling. Also the factory THX mode is poor,
32911067-fAfv0.jpghad too much blue green + poor gamma tracking. I have pictures of the TV also.

The 802 isn’t a true 10 bit panel. It’s the same one that’s in the DX750. It just gets a special THX preset. You need to go to the DX902 for 10 bit.
If you can afford a DX 902 buy an OLED.
THX is designed for consumers to have an accurate picture without playing with settings too much.
This TV was way below THX requirements.
Panasonic has a new IPS technology they say they will beat OLED. Sadly Panasonic let poorly calibrated TVs out of the factory.

LG OLED is the way if you value picture quality.
1703031709-1514285567.jpg
I also had the DX802b, the black levels were nowhere near the AX802 I own.
The picture was good but I have shots of the backlight problems in the corners and it was just too distracting for me to keep. I upgraded to the DX902b which is a huge improvement, with a 10bit panel, FALD and it hits the high levels for HDR to really shine, which the DX802b just couldn't.
It's a shame, because I really liked the design, although I didn't use the stand. The sound bar was good though. While I had it, storing the stand wasn't easy. Prepare for a gigantic shipping box! I paid around £1300 for it at the time with the UB700 4K player. Still don't think I'd have settled for it at £899 but others may be more forgiving than I am, or you may get a better panel.
Would be a definite wall mount if i pressed the trigger, that stand is horrendous.
Been checking these side by side many tellies including the higher priced Panasonic models such as the 750, this to my eyes looked better in picture quality, and at such price of course a better option than the DX750 58” ...
if I wanted to spend nearly £1500 for a 55inch TV then of course I’d go for OLED but at this price I find it hard to get any model TV that gives this picture quality, 3D, sound bar and I like the stand too, it’s just different and I have the space for it anyway
I'd just like to point out that this TV was exactly the same price October last year when I bought my Sony one from John Lewis...
Not trying to piss on anyones parade or anything, just be careful when shopping

Sadly, this is ACTIVE 3D which is far inferior to LG's passive 3D, available in 2016 TV sets. If you're a 3D fan and are looking for a 3D TV, try to find an LG B6/ C6 OLED 3D 4K TV. They're cheaper now and far, far superior to everything else out there!
Will the active glasses work from my old P50ST30 3D panny plasma?
agree about the stand if i had to put up with it id cover it up with some sort of material and make a pocket to store the remote or something. It wouldnt be to bad if it wasnt just a big ass open space. Pure awful whoever \designed it needs a clip i bet people push the tv to see if it swings.

The B6 didn't include 3D so people should be looking for the C6

But this tv is 899 with a free soundbar. Oled is 1499. My 3D 50" panasonic from 2011 is still a very good picture as it uses the infamous KURO plasma screen, which in my opinion is just as good as non HDR 4K. I may wait for my old plasma to die, but may be waiting a long time as my even older 11 year old 42" plasma is still working well and that has been on an average of about 8 hours a day. Admittedly that tv is 720p and very dated now...

Apologies I thought you meant c7 not c6. I will check out that now...
Can't see that the oled c6 is on sale now...
When do I buy a new tv, and move on my 50GT50....
Your GT 50 will have better gray-scale colour and contrast. From plasma TV only one choice OLED.
32912935-o2Y3p.jpgmy old G20 plasma perfect RGB and ok gray-scale. Yours will beat this.

Are they not phasing out 3d tv's?
I was told by a LG and Sony expert there will only be one producer soon of them. I can't see the money being invested in producing programs and films either.

when that one dies IMHO

Too many people seem to just change Tv's because a newer model comes out (ofc people have the right to do so as it is their money)

I wont upgrade my Tv until i need to.

That said i do have in another room an older 42" samsung plasma that was bought in about 2004
something like this so i guess i need to find a mid range replacement for that.

Man what's happening with this boxing day. No deals on the OLEDs????
Just because it's old stock it's doesn't mean it's out of date. The picture will be as good as anything from 2018 at the price point. There's nowhere to go now for TV. Manufacturers have already surpassed human capabilities. So a TV two years old can't look worse from one next year.

Like what, the smaller TV you used to have? A bigger TV does not compensate for anything besides a smaller TV.
Which has better after care/accidental damage cover etc. JL or Currys??

I’d choose JL over Currys anytime when it comes to after care/warranty etc, just a personal experience! though I went with Currys due to A) I didn’t pay anything for it today and nothing for 6 months which JL doesn’t offer B) the 5 years warranty through Currys is a bonus too which JL always offers but not Currys on all their TV models!

£129 at Currys. They have no officially brought the price down to £899 so no price match is needed anymore

A poor eyesight?
Just received a text from Currys saying my TV will be delivered between 05:40 to 09:40! Never knew they delivered things that early! Though I know they always turn up minutes before deadline so 09:40 is ok with me

Wired and a big improvement over in built speakers . I own this tv, bought it last year. Stand is silly but once wall mounted it is amazing. Though pricing clearly much better this year than last.
