2011 model but v good price.

So do you a newest model every year?

My Panasonic plasma is about 4 years old now bt a great purchase - far better than any of the LCD/LED screens family/friends have - highly recommend Panasonic Plasma for anyone that wants a 42"+ screen

Good price, but personally I would compromise on the size and take the 42" but gain 3D and this years 2012 version, for the same price!

Which model and where?

Can't recommend Panasonic plasmas high enough. Bought one of this years models in May and it's awesome for movies, Sky, 3d and games. Blew my old Sony LCD set out of the water...

Personally, after seeing quite a few 3d films in the cinema I am not convince that 3D is important. In fact last time I went to the cinema (to see Prometheus) I didn't bother with the 3D at all.

It's the TX-P42UT50B. 42 obviously is size in inches which is why i said i'd compromise on that. UT is the U series but with 3D, which is what the T stands for and 50 is the models all 2012 panasonics have.

So its the 42 inch 3D version of the U series and its the 2012 model

best picture quality

personally i saw a 2011 42" B series set on display in a pansonic store and the blacks were awfully grey, might have just been a bad set, btu i expected it to be much better

Panasonic =king of plasma
I have the ST30 model and love it.

OOS? For £ 499 I only see a used one. None from Amazon direct. Marketplace is £580 !

They don't do a B series, I think B represents the colour of the surround, this is a UT series TV. The series number with recent Panasonic TV's comes immediately after the screen size, 42XT, 50VT, 42ST, the VT being the top of the range.

My Panny Plassy from 2007 is still going strong......cue it blowing up tonight on its 5 year anniversary purchase date and warranty expiry!!

Mines got green tinge and vertical banding, its only seven months old but nobody will do anything about it!:(

Is this now sold out from Amazon?

This model doesn't have a very good AR coating, so beware of a washed out image and reflections in a living room that is lit normally.

"B" represents a British version

This may be a half decent price now but it wouldn't have got a look in 6 months ago when you could pick up the 50ST30 for £599 with glasses and then just before the offers disappeared, £499.

I know, I have one from February sitting behind the sofa waiting for the conversion to be finished (next week finally).

That's a good deal. I personally went for the s series with the anti-reflective coating and overall better quality picture.. but it costs more. £800 from richer sounds with a 3d blu ray player chucked in. Hugo in 3d was ootw

Seems to be out of stock?

Cheers

Also the T stands for 3D version of the television ( which this version doesn't have ). Digging myself into a hole here.

Hope you have tested it. Are you aware that a large percentage suffer with vertical banding and coloured patches onscreen, which lots of dealers will probably not class as warranty issues? I sent back 4x 50GT30's before giving up.
