Great price with the warranty. I'd be happier with Panny's cheaper non 1080p plasmas (think the new PX80 is now out), but if you must have LCD this'd be my choice for the money.

votes hot.!

totally agree....i put the panny px70 plasma up against this panny lcd and if anything the plamsa was better for bluray but MILES better for SD using same sources

however this is an excellent LCD, better than the samsungs and sonys....prob the best LCD imo for the money (only the Loewe imo is as good but thats double/triple the price).....and thats from a plasma fan.....

now the PX80 is out i suspect the margain has increased in the plasma's favour

went into Comet for a laugh yesterday and to see if they had the px80 on display (er, no), they had a PX70....then said " but they arent 1080p"....i asked him, so why do i need 1080p now (sure 10-20 years time maybe) becuase like most people i watch SD (i watch alot of movies and play games but this doesnt compare to SD content)...unsurprisingly he changed his track....he said it what theyve been told to do to drive up sales of 1080p tv's (more profit margin anyone?)

me? i would rather buy the plasma, though i prefer this panny's LCD styling

Yup..I think people some people fall into the trap of assuming that if they mainly watch high def then 1080p becomes more important...and, whilst it is if all other factors are equal, it's still less important than colour reproduction and black levels - even for Xbox/PS3 and blu-ray. The only time I'd choose a lower quality 1080p over a better non 1080p set would be if I wanted it almost exclusively for reading text on a PC desktop.

Of course,if you can afford a good quality 1080p plasma so much the better!

great tv hoT!
