where from?

I was looking at the LG 42LB580V - which seems to have the same spec. Does anyone know what the difference is?

I'm after the 42" AS600. Best price is £449

Participating stores only so you can't just buy anywhere....

Currys have now gone to 349 with their 42AS520. It has the free time feature which is not included on the AS500.

The Argos one appears to have a black surround and the Curry's a silver.

So i can't get a 5yr warranty from panasonic with this model?

Appreciate that. I don't think I will take a chance. These new TVs ain't built to ladt !

Bought this from Argos. Took back today, picture quality fuzzy - very disappointed and surprised as reviews were generally positive.

Did you have your glasses on?

Ha ha comedy genius. Don't wear glasses, neither do my wife and 2 kids who all felt the same. Thankfully sites like this allow everyone an opinion.

I saw this tv in currys yesterday alongside the lg42lb585v and imo the picture on the LG was a lot better. I saw the LG550 in tesco (same as 585 but without smart features and magic remote I believe) today and the comparable Samsung and toshiba sets both looked better than it. My conclusion is that the Panasonic is not worth bothering with. Imo imo imo!!

How about PANASONIC VIERA TX 40AS640E - 40" - VIERA AS640 Series 3D LED TV - Smart TV currys price match at 399 pos to get lower with codes.

Quidco or TCB with Argos?

Don't let it's "smart" features be a factor in your decision. My Panasonic has a fantastic panel, but the smart features are useless. So painfully slow, user unfriendly, and buggy I don't even bother use them. I'm a programmer myself, and the standard of quality of the software is absolutely shocking. Even scrolling channels jumps around every few. Zero updates came in the 18 months since purchase (Thanks Panasonic..). Bought an Amazon Fire TV box (£49 for me) for smartness and it's an entirely different experience.

There are quite a few differences besides that to. More smart features in the 500 I think, more hdmi sockets? Can't remember exactly but I was confused as to why the "before price" was higher on the 500 than 520 and checking the full spec revealed that each one had features the other didn't... Need to decide what you want and what you don't.
