Hi all,

I was thinking about buying this TV. I'd be grateful if you could all leave your comments below, I would especially welcome those telling me the following;

1. That it doesn't support Netflix 4k.
2. That it's 'as new' rather than brand new.
3. Electronic world are a nightmare to deal with.
4. Samsung is better.
5. John Lewis do a five year guarantee, this is only 12 months.
6. Blah blah blah blah Gaming blur.

Looks an awful lot of TV for the money to me.

Now all together... 3,2,1... put me off buying it!

Banned

but it is HDR?

I brought this tv a few months ago from currys I would recommend it although on really dark coloured scenes the black screen seems to be blocky that'sthe only way I can describe it otherwise I'm more than happy with it theres loads of features one great feature Is the screen mirroring from tablet/phone or even another panasonic tv (most new TVs probably do this now). Bear in mind it doesn't come with glasses I brought 2 pairs of panasonic Bluetooth ones from john Lewis for around £60 you probably could get compatible ones cheaper but I'd already brought the wrong ones off eBay and couldn't be bothered to research the after market ones.

This TV will probably have a line in the screen or even worse a scratch.

I could be wrong, but for that price I doubt the screen will be in perfect condition.

Haven't you got forms to fill in somewhere?

I nearly got this but decided on the 850. Much better spec and reviews.

Apologies, it is a 58 inch ax802. Price wise £1300. I have seen it for 999 on eBay since!

Please put used in the title!

This TV is awesome as I have it and the upscale works really well when I play films off my passport hard drive but I would pay extra for 5 year warranty so if you can do that it's well worth the money

Genuinely asking, what is this 'gaming blur' people are on about? Is it related to ghosting and response times?

I'd pick CRT over some LED TVs

I prefer a 55" samsung blackboard & chalk.....

If your review starts with "I brought this" then your review is pointless because most people can tell you're an idiot.

I'm holding out for 12k (_;)

On a serious note I thought Samsung and Sony had different (incompatible) standards of 4k video formats, do Panasonic have their own as well or has it been standardised. Or am I taking out of my thass?

Agreed! I'm so **** they have stopped making plasma TVs.
I currently own a 50 samsung plasma and the picture quality and blacks are better than any tv I have seen in stores.

Anyone know if there any old stock if 65 inch plasmas. I can't find any so I'm guessing they never managed to produce any.

If your looking for a large 4k deal though this ain't a bad price. but I would rather spend double to get a plasma

Panasonic's Ebay store had a TX-P65VT65 2 days ago for £1999.

Current important things.. HDMI 2.0 60fps, HDCP 2.2, HEVC decoding, maybe HDR..

Coming in the future.. Rec 2020 10/12 bits per sample, OLEDs using PWM, 8k.

Get 6yr warranty free under English law for electricals so why are people still paying for it.

Its not strictly a 6 year warranty, you have six years to make a complaint to the retailer not the manufacturer, as your contract is with them. If the goods are not fit for purpose or do not last a reasonable amount of time. You only a get a partial refund which decreases as time goes on, plus if the retailer gets really **** its up to you to show there was an inherent fault. I ve used this a couple of times now and got partial refunds after 2 years plus, so always worth a go.

Me tooooo!. bwwwuauahhhh
Is any TV technology going to compete with Plasma any time soon???

Good price for the specs.

If anyone's expecting a state of the art tv for under 700 pounds then they're insane.

The samsung HDR range apparently blow everything out the water, including plasma, pricey tho at min.

But bought into 4k yet. I got the W905 from Sony - totally super set with piles of awesome reviews and awards

You have done your research. I've used the model smaller than this, great tv. Black levels are outstanding, some of the best I have seen. If it fits the bill I say go for it.

Love panasonic stuff

Very interesting.Thanks for the info!

Has anyone noticed that the companies Electronic World, Discount AV Direct and Cheap LED TV (there may be other ones too) all have the same address (208 Bromford Lane, Erdington, Birmingham) and phone number (0121 327 3273)? I get dubious when spending ~£700 that it is not all a big con? If you have bought stuff from them and have positive feedback, please feel free to share
