HCX Processor – Hollywood-tuned picture processor
Tuned by an industry expert in Hollywood, this 58 inch Panasonic TV delivers a picture that’s faithful to the colour and detail originally intended. The powerful HCX processor features 3D LUT, HDR and 4K remaster tech to accurately reproduce the picture – just as the filmmaker intended.
HDR Bright Panel Plus for super-sharp images
Once the signal has been analysed by the HCX Processor, it’s sent to a screen that does it justice – HDR Bright Panel Plus. Using extra-bright LED backlights, this screen goes brighter and therefore enhances contrast, giving superb levels of contrast – even in conditions of high ambient light.
Local Dimming – improved contrast
Working in conjunction with the HDR Bright Panel Plus, Local Dimming gives more control over the picture contrast. By being able to dim particular areas of the image, contrast is enhanced, making images look even more natural and lifelike. The processing is so fast and seamless, you’ll notice nothing except an incredible sense of image realism.
HDR10+ Adaptive – ultimate detail in all lighting conditions
HDR10+ Adaptive takes HDR10 and to the next level, making it the ultimate HDR-type picture processor. HDR10+ Adaptive uses light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is.
Multi-format HDR support for a stunning picture from all sources
As well as HDR10+ Adaptive, the TX-58JX800B also offers multi-format HDR support, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG and HLG Photo. HDR10+ offers scene-by-scene HDR mastering for the truest, most accurate HDR picture technology. Each scene is optimised, meaning the maximum amount of detail is shown – even in the brightest or darkest moments.
See the picture exactly as originally intended, with Filmmaker Mode
Featuring exclusive technology from Panasonic, Filmmaker Mode makes the best of any movie. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended. Panasonic exclusively add Intelligent Sensing to Filmmaker mode, so that the picture reacts intelligently to changes in light, automatically giving you the most cinematic picture possible, whether the room is bright or dark.

sorted byIt's not as good as your Plasma only an OLED TV can match that. This uses a VA panel so you got to sit directly infront because at angles the colours will wash out.
The only advantage this TV has over your plasma is the 4K resolution and it's a lot lighter and thinner. If you want a direct upgrade to your plasma than look at the Panasonic JZ1000 series or above.
Back in stock.
Fantastic TV !
Thanks edited now
Might be best for you to view linked YouTube video in description, looks good to me.
Useful, thanks georditek.
I thought it was too good to be true that something in the JX price range would be as good as my old plasma.
I use a BT freeview recorder box with mine and that gives me all the smart features I need so I'll stick with that setup for now. (edited)
Yep I thought so for a large tv & a “proper " Panasonic.
I did say the 4K resolution and weight/thickness was an advantage. Other features can be added through an inexpensive smart tv box. Just to be clear though I never said this LED is bad, it's a good deal if it suits your requirements.
It's not nonsense because the Plasma can upscale better, has better viewing angles, better contrast and better motion handling.
What i know it's a proper Panasonic.Pretty good for the money.
Seems to be. 50" still available £249.
The link takes me to youtube but not to this tv...
Not as good as a 10 year old plasma?
I think that's nonsense. On black levels yes.But the resolution alone will be quite an upgrade let alone other features of this tv.
How's the TV. Sound, picture quality, etc.
