Tempted. I'm on the lookout for a new TV but really wanted 50-55", great deal though.

Thank u op. Just bought. Missed out on an older model for £300 from Sainsburys. This one is much newer and worth the extra £50.

Great price ordered!

Great deal - this is £40 less than a refurbished set from Panasonic's own eBay outlet.

Ahhhhhh the English language in all its beauty.......

Holy zombie jesus...that is HOT.

I have this TV, paid £500. It's AMAZING. Everyone comments on the picture quality when they come round.

stellar review of this on hdtv

Wow, if Perfect Visions Ltd. hadn't fleeced me for £340 this week........I could have had this.

Gutted.

Would JL price match this?

I wonder how this compares to the W8 42 inch Sony often on their refurb site

Does this have a internet browser that supports flash video ?

thanks

Does it play records?
Does it rewind the tape when it's finished?
Can you listen to the wireless on it?

Just had a quick look online, and this TV has fantastic reviews everywhere.

So for the price this deal is scorching hot.

just had the call to arrange delivery, that gives me a couple of days to win the missus over that I need this tv to watch the world cup, wish me luck!

HarryBongo

Would JL price match this?

nope

Good deal. if i recall correctly, Electrical 123 is part of the co op group, which used to be a good thing.

This is a really good TV, great picture quality too. Bargain, heat added!

Actually that is the TV,s main weakness, sport/motion. So perhaps not the best bet for world cup....

Bought, my parents one of these on the JL black friday sale last year for £399, so definitely a bargain.

Its a good television but be aware that its not an ips panel so if you are sitting at an acute angle you will notice a color shift. One review on amazon reckoned its was 20 degrees but I estimate its somewhere around 30-40 degrees.

As per all the reviews the black levels were superb, did the test using a film letter box in a dark room. Media player will also handle 15Gb 1080P mkvs without issue.

I have the 3d model. brilliant. you won't be sorry!

The internet browser on this does not support flash.

It's horses for courses though, yes the viewing angle is reduced on this but the black levels are better than those on the IPS panels. The IPS panels are used in all the models above this one (eg. next model up is Panasonic TX-L42ET60B).

You want decent black levels, get a plasma.

A Panasonic plasma. There isn't an LCD/LED out there than can touch them.

Finest TV's there are. With the possible exception of OLED which is WAAAAAAAY more expensive.

That said, this is a good price for a Panasonic. So heat from me.

Thanks OP - purchased.

Awesome deal, bought one for my parents who don't need 3D and still have a standard def Sky Box

I have a Pioneer Kuro and the blacks are hard to beat so look forward to trying this out.

For the average household the lack of an IPS panel will make negligible difference IMO.

just ordered a 32" full HD samsung for £249 so this is a stonking deal

I think you should see this screen first. It's not standard technology. It's MVA panels, of which only 2 TVs had just a couple months ago. And the main advantage of it is incredibly dark black levels. I seriously struggle to see where the panel ends and the inner frame begins.

I run a Panasonic VT65 plasma.

I can't tell where the inner frame begins. And blacks are well and truly, full on, proper, black. Only thing in the same ball park is a ZT65 or OLED.

But have you actually seen this screen? If you haven't seen this screen, or the Sony W6, then you haven't seen what VA can really do, black level wise.

To quote HDTV Test:
"we’ve never quite seen the top and bottom black bars in 2.35:1 movies virtually dissolve into nothingness on previous Viera LED LCD TVs as they did on the E6. "
"the first non-plasma Viera that is not weighed down by poor blacks."

Don't need to. The VT range has pretty much the best black levels on the market.

Calibrated test results for both sets:

hdtvtest.co.uk/new…htm
hdtvtest.co.uk/new…htm

ANSI Checkerboard Black levels (after calibration) - 0.0268 cd/m2 vs 0.0039 cd/m2

And for comparison, the same ANSI level for a decidedly average cheapo Toshiba set - 0.098 cd/m2

So the Panny LED is way better than the Toshiba. But the Panny plasma is then way ahead of the LED set. Which is not surprising. LCD/LED can NOT match the black levels of the best plasma. Simply down to the technology.

Don't get me wrong, this is a nice TV. I like Panasonic stuff. Which is why I have one myself. But plasma is king for black levels. Full stop, end of story.

At least, until OLED goes mainstream anyway ....

I guess if you want the best, plasma technology is the way. But I found the blacks so dark on the VA I found it hard to imagine them being darker. Not sure my eyes would detect it!

True.

I've always preferred the picture from plasma anyway. Find it less harsh and more natural.

But I have seen an OLED set running and the PQ on that was pretty damned awesome. All they need to do is drop in price by about 70% and I'm in! Oh, and stop make them curved and non-wall-mountable. I have to wall mount the way I set my living room up. My only option with the current OLED's would be to put up a giant shelf instead.

Ordered thanks

Are there any tvs out there with Dnla so I could connect direct to my nas for movies etc??

Are there any tvs out there with Dnla so I could connect direct to my nas … Are there any tvs out there with Dnla so I could connect direct to my nas for movies etc??

Don't bother with that malarkey. DLNA is largely a gimmick for most. Get a WDTV for around £60 and it'll play nigh on anything with PLEX.

We run two of these, one for a TV which has DLNA and its head and shoulders above the DLNA mode, which is useful but retarded and fiddly.

All connected to NAS through wired and wi-fi in multiple rooms.

135 sold in last few hours....amazing!
