I could cut and past the description from the website but then you would have to scroll all the way through it; which is dull.

Anyway, this is a great TV (I have it) for a great price. Make sure your room is big enough and if you are sitting closer than 8ft from the screen and you watch lots of BluRay (1080p) then you may want a Full HD screen instead. Oh, and if there's lots of bright sunlight, consider an LCD instead.

I recently bought a 50' Full HD Samsung TV from Bennetts for a bit over £500 after Quidco. I know Panasonic is a better brand but mine is ful 1080p.

I found out about the deal from here.

Good price for a 50 inch TV, even if it's a Samsung. Shame it's expired though!

Ooh, lovely deal - now I'm just waiting for my 37inch panel to throw itself to the floor.

Hmm personally I wouldn't go any lower than 1080P on a 50" set... price notwithstanding.

Only relevant if you sit clser than 8ft. I sit 14ft away so can't tell the difference.

FullHD is a bit of a marketing ploy but it would make sense for some.

Most people sit 8ft or less away in the average living room... I sit 6.5ft away from my 50" G10.

Actually the average viewing distance in this country is more like 9 ft

Don't ya just hate it when people use facts?

Fight back against the marketing hype!

Unless you're confident of transporting a 50" plasma yourself bear in mind that you're likely looking at £60 delivery charge, unless I'm missing something.

Voted hot, as it's an outstanding tv and a great price.

I sooooo want this tv. Can someone buy it for me please. I'm broke.

I meant most people I know (about 7 guys with 50" TV's). A normal sized living room is around 5m x 4m... most people with larger TV's are not as far away form their TV as you tnink.

It's simply silly to buy a TV of less than 1080p nowadays, especially one at 50", when there is so much native 1080p material out there.

My brother wants to get his first plasma, I'm very tempted to sell him mine and get this.

How does this compare to a Panasonic TH-42PX70 ?

What's the difference appart from the size, native resolution and inputs, as i'm mainly concerned about image quality as there's not much point if the picture isn't as good. Would be used for Freeview, XBox 360, HTPC (video\games) and eventually Bluray, I'm just over 8ft away from the screen if that helps.

Cheers
