I managed to reserve this camera and have collected it this evening for £210.12 using the voucher. My two other local stores had no stock left, 3rd store had the black version in. This is a bargain for this camera - definately not a 'grey import'.

suppose it depends on what you want it for and how you'll use it mate.

This camera i got for this missus cuz she wanted a compact camera, but this is bursting with features. However, I've got a Canon 450d myself, i'd probably opt for the FZ38... lol, sorry not much help am I!

DMC FZ38 is certainly a better choice but it is much heavier/bulky compared to TZ7. Both are equally good for HD video and are equally bad for taking pictures in low-light conditions

tried code can't get to work any ideas?

Original Poster

sorry mate, i've no idea, but as i say i posted the confirmation, i only tried one of the codes - it just happened to be the top one: 352C3CCFA51B10C7. This worked great so i saw no need to try the others.

Its a small shot but, i did enter the 5% code of 'snow' first and then entered the above 15% code which overided the 'snow' code. Could be worth a shot incase it is a glitch in their system?

Just re-tried the codes and i can no longer get them to work, i dunno how these work but it looks like they have been used too many times now or have been expired. I'll expire the deal, sorry guys - I guess i was lucky!

Anyone else managed to get these codes working or was i just an extremely lucky individual tonight?

just tried them out of interest and they wont work here

brilly;7260296

Maybe because each code only works once?
None are working for me.

I doubt if the pictures from this are much better than the Canon A480 for £59.99 (less £5 voucher) I bought last month from Argos

You're right! Looking at these sample, some I prefer the Panasonic, others the Canon. Either way it does make you wonder if it's worth twice the price?!

theres a lot of good cameras out there at the moment, but this camera's main feature, the ones that i happily paid more for are, huge optical zoom, quality lens and hi-def recording.

if you dont use high zoom you'll probably be non the wiser but since i've had high zooms i wont be going back.

Some photos maybe - but the canon doesn't have 25mm equivalent wide-angle or a fraction of the zoom reach. Not many 10x+ zooms have such a good lens as the Panasonic.

The TZ7 HD video is excellent.

I think the downside on the TZ6/7 is in low light without flash - perhaps the Canon is superior there - but I've not seen any images to suggest that...

If HD video isn't a concern and you only need around 10x zoom then I'd say the Fuji F70EXR is a better bet - it's much cheaper (£155), it's much more compact and would fit your pocket more comfortably. it arguably takes better pictures, especially in low light.

Having had a 'super zoom' camera, a Fuji S8000 (18x zoom), despite the geekiness of carrying around a house brick I'd not go back to 'normal' cameras - I broke mine on holiday in Florence and was left with a 3 x zoom canon A470 - there were so many shots I missed that would have been a doddle with the S8000s 27mm wide-angle or 480mm zoom.

Well they would be a different colour, they were taken during different seasons and time of day.
