Hi guys this has got to be the best deal on this TV at the moment, the next price is £896.16 from electrical-deals.co.uk but they are refurbished goods and they are out of stock until the end of Feb. The next is £999 from Richer sounds which are available only in store at the moment due to limited stock.

So here goes, if you are a first time customer with Bennettsonline.co.uk you get a 10% discount code emailed to your inbox which you can use on anything on the website. The Panasonic 50" plasma is on their site at £995 currently so after the discount code has been applied you pay: £895.50, that in itself is the cheapest price around at the moment but if you initially find the site through topcashback.co.uk you get another 4% off making the TV: £859.68. Woot Woot!

Now on the website it states that the TV is currently out of stock which is correct to a certain degree but I know for a fact (as I have rang them on three different occasions this week and last) that they are expecting a large order to cover their back orders and they will also have quite a few left over. Because this is still an active line they recieve deliveries of this item roughly every two weeks. If Bennetts are willing to take your money online they must supply you with the product by law, it's as simple as that. You may have to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery so this deal is perfect for those that don't mind the wait and I think that it's worth it for the amount of cash being knocked off.

Anyway guys and girls here is ta brief spec for the TV:

50" FULL HD 1080P Plasma Television
* Resolution: 1,920 x 1,080 Pixels
* High Contrast Native 30,000 : 1
* 100 Hz Double Scan
* 24p Playback
* 3D Colour Management
* DVB Digital Tuner
* NICAM (FM)
* SD Memory Card Slot(SDHC Compatible)
* HDMI Input x 3
* PC Input Mini D-sub 15-pin x 1
* Component Video Input RCA phono type x 3 [Y , PB, PR] (rear)

I hope that this deal helps some people out there who are looking for a first class large plasma as I was, but didn't want to pay a premium. This TV is superb and one of the best plasma TV's on the market today bar of course the Pioneer Kuro which costs nearly twice as much.

Have a good day!

PLEASE DO NOT EXPIRE AS THIS DEAL IS STILL ACTIVE. THANK YOU.

There's nothing wrong with the TH50PX80. I've had mine for nearly a year. Best television I've ever owned. Don't regret it for a minute.

OOO so tempted... must resist... no clicky buy... no clicky !

tempted, but with this being a plasma screen well worth the extra warranty at £250. still cheaper then JL by £190, heat added

Only having 2 HDMI inputs on the rear really lets this down.
There is a third, but it's on the front right in the centre of the unit at the bottom.
Other than that its a cracking machine

same deal on the sony kdl40w4500u then ! 50" too big for me unfortunately

Yeah, I just brought this from JL with the 5 yr Warrany as my last plasma blew up 11 months into the 1 yr warranty (Phew!!)

JL will price match Richer sounds at £999 but you also get the free 5yr warranty and free delivery.

However, this is a fantastic deal if you aren't worried about the warranty!

Non existent on my Panasonic 42" plasma which is two years old and has been used extensively for TV (including Sky with the logos) and Xbox 360.

There are settings and techniques for minimising the risk in the first 200 hours or so when they are supposed to be most vulnerable, but we didn't know that at the time and haven't had any problems.

why does everywhere seem to be out of stock of TVs ? Must've been a big spend up over crimbo

Cracking price for this TV but I wouldnt order from Bennetts at this or any other price. Stick to trustworthy retailers like JL even if it is a little bit more. Had my fingers burned twice now ordering from Bennetts, never again

Retailers have not re-stocked post Xmas. Problem is that when they do the lousy £ exchange rate means prices are going to have to go up. Sony has indicated large price rises are looming. Best bet is to buy now if you are looking for a new TV. Prices won't be this low again for some time.

bargain, I paid £1300 for a PZ81 50" only 3 months ago

I was going to order this yesterday but I had a call from John Lewis in the morning saying that when I enquired for the price match on the 46" they had them in stock at the time so they would honour the £799.99 price so I jumped at it. If it hadn't been for that phone call my friend I would have snapped this up in an instant. Hope you enjoy your new whopping TV. :thumbsup:

I've bought a couple of TV's from Bennetts in the past mate and never had a problem but it looks like a select few on here have had to endure a couple of weeks wait for the TV. Personally I wouldn't mind the wait if I was saving over £100 compaired with other retailers but I can understand other peoples views on the subject and wanting their new shiny humongous TV straight away. Who can blame them. I'm still waiting for the 46" from John Lewis as they were due stock on the 5th so hopefully I will get a phonecall this week sometime telling me that my telly is on it's way. All the best. :thumbsup:

hmmm....I bought a LG 50 PG6000 a couple of months ago from Costco - can't remember but it was about £800 with 5 year warranty.

trustedreviews.com/tvs…/p1

I have in the back of my mind that I might return it to get a 50 inch Panny 1080p version (LG is 720)

Do you reckon its worth the extra/hassle?

I watch a fair few Blu-rays and play PS3 but only view SD....what to do?!

Hi mate, we have a 37" LG37LG3000 downstairs in the living room at the moment and on standard definition programmes I've got to say it looks fantastic and better than my current Panasonic Viera42" TH42-PX80BA, but for HD i.e blu-ray films you can't go wrong with the panasonic. As stated in the initial post the only other TV that comes close to the Panasonic for HD content is the Pioneer range of Kuro's which are double the price at the moment. The blacks on the Pansonic will be a lot better than on your LG and I would advise anyone who punts for a 50" TV to go for 1080p all the way as it's at this size where the difference between 720p and 1080p becomes evident. So the answer to your question would be I guess yes if you watch a lot of HD material on your Blu-ray setup at home as you most definitely will be able to tell the difference in picture quality. Oh and a question for you out of curiosity, is the 50" LG 100Hz? I only ask as our LG downstairs is 50Hz and it really struggles when we are watching football match with jaggies and blurring. All the best!

Sorry I forgot to mention gaming. For gaming I can't really see there being much difference between the two as 90% of games for the xbox 360 and PS3 are native 720p at the moment and native 1080p games are few and far between. I suppose if you wanted to "future proof" yourself the Panasonic would be a better bet as in future I can envisage there being more and more 1080p native games out there but at the moment the difference would be negligeable.

Oh and one last thing in my oppinion the Lg's have it on the looks and style department but I'd have the Panasonic. :thumbsup:

This is the verdict of the 46" version on trusted reviews:

Verdict

This 46in plasma from Panasonic, may not be as cheap as the 50in LG 50PG6000, but it's also a better TV. Considering the image quality and design, Panasonic has hit an amazing price point with the TH-46PZ80B. OK, so the black levels aren't quite as deep as a Pioneer Kuro, but then it doesn't cost anywhere near as much. Now that Panasonic has finally included proper 1080p 24Hz support, there's very little that this TV can't do. If you've got your heart set on a large plasma, this 46in Panasonic will fit the bill nicely.

Full review can be found here: trustedreviews.com/tvs…/p1

I can see what you're saying about the Euro.. but if there is a big price hike surely no one will be buying tv's !

Sorry just had to buy the th50pz80b. Couldnt hold back on this one lol.

Now just got to list some stuff on ebay to pay for it as well as my 42 px80.

Oh, so tempting. This is about as big as you can get with 1080p plasmas before the prices totally balloon. On the other hand, it still means sitting really close to get the full benefit, around 6.5 feet, maybe 8 feet for those with eagle eyes. That's a little close for my lounge :-(

What problems have you had from Bennetts?

Bought 2 Toshiba laptops before christmas fro the kids, money was taken instantly even though there was supposedly a problem with the payment, took 2 days (no exaggeration) and 22 phone calls to eventually get through only to be told there wasnt actually a problem just confirming that I really wanted 2 laptops. When they arrive one of the laptop screens was DOA, (okay no fault of Bennetts) but I knew I had to phone them back up. 14 attempts to get through to them, after 4 minutes you get cut off and are told to try later. When I eventually got through I was told to phone Toshiba so they could confirm that the laptop was faulty, which of course it was. Toshiba supplied a reference number and I had to get back in touch with Bennetts. I must have been lucky on the 3rd attempt because it only took me 7 attempts. I was told a replacement would be sent out immediately and the faulty one uplifted. 8 days later no laptop arrived so I phoned up (4 attempts) to be told it was out of stock. Dont know whether it was bad luck but the guy I spoke to couldnt care less that this was my sons Xmas present, and he couldnt supply an answer as to why no-one bothered to inform me. I could go on longer but at the moment i still dont have a laptop for my son and I cant decide whether to cancel and go elsewhere. (The thought of having to ring them back up fills me with dread). I was going to tell you about a previous order but I think I have ranted on enough already. Like I said I wouldnt order from them again, if you order and your goods are fine then you have nothing to worry about, if there is a problem thats when you find out why retailers can undercut others.
