I am looking for a new TV and this seems a good deal to me. I know its refurbished but it is refurbished by Panasonic themselves and does come with a 12 month warranty. I am not particularly looking for a 3D TV, just a decent tv. I would be grateful to hear what you think.

I paid £399 for this TV in December 2014 at Currys (reputedly reduced from £699). I haven't used the 3D myself, so unable to comment. As a smart Tv it works brilliantly. I used to watch some YouTube content via my PS3 but this experience is SO much better. Colours are really natural. I am a photographer and do not like over saturated hues. Sound us a little 'thin' but no worse than a previous Sony at double the price. It comes with two remotes, but I really only use the standard one, the second one is more like a track pad, very intuitive, with speech!

Thanks a lot for your views. I keep thinking about waiting for a 4K tv but there doesnt seem to be any content out there to justify buying one.

I'm after this TV for our caravan!

I know the set is brilliant but my concern is : what is the quaintly of the refurbished sets????

I wish Currys did a 5 year warranty in this set.

Anyone bought a panasonic refurb?

I am sure you would be happy enough with this set. Unless you shoot 4k yourself, it will be a little while before 4k content takes hold. It's also worth mentioning that it's very pleasing to the eye too. Not flashy, just smart. You're able to select content of the main screen via 'themes', I have still to fully exploit the smart features.

I purchased a 50" refurb from Panasonic and it looked brand new.

I got the 55" 650b of Panasonic eBay, the box was a bit tatty but everything in side was untouched.
When set up it was fantastic (the passive 3d was amazing).

The following morning when I passed the TV on a white image I noticed 4 small dull spots and once I had seen them I could not help but look for them.

Quick call to Panasonic and then offered me a refund or the would swap it for the 640b as they had no more 650b in stock.

Took the 640 and it arrived next day, this time it was not in the original box and the stand was already on it.
There was not a mark on it though.
TV has a really nice natural picture, smart is OK (not as my apps as Samsung or lg and no plex).

The big disapointment for me was the 3d,the 640b is their only active shutter TV and mine suffers from lots of crosstalk (ghosting), I get dizzy watching it, then it's that 'popped out into the room on the 650b passive don't really do it on this active set.

If this was black, I would have snapped it up.

Ordered thanks

I have this tv, and it's brilliant. 3d isn't the best, but handles everything good in 3d. Even though it's silver, the trim is so small y don't notice it being silver

i brought from panasonic ebay outlet and it was perfect brand new glasses n new remotes rapid delivery aswell

This or the Sony w8 42inch for £349 on tesco eBay outlet ?

Got the 50 inch Viera for £229 at Xmas (Tesco) - better value IMV

I'd imagine the Sony would be better for gaming, low input lag.

I bought the 48mm refurb version off the Ebay site and have to say very impressed with it. Like others the box was tatty but Tv was perfect. Excellent buy for the money.

These come back in stock every couple of days

I will keep an eye out on one. Pitty as new they don't have the 5 year warranty.

Need either a 39" or 40" for it to fit in where we want it to do. 42" won't fit!!
