Television reviews are getting so confusing because of the large choice. Its difficult to decide what is best for your money as technology is changing so fast.
I need an expert to say what is the best buy for around £800-1000

It not from a UK based company (Netherlands), and it also looks like a model number not available in the UK. So I can't compare price to anything else unless you have the UK version number?

For reference, the nearest model I compared it to was £849 from richer sounds.

Perhaps an expert can confirm, in general terms from best to worst:

OLED 4K HDR
LED 4K HDR (10 BIT)
LED 4K HDR (8 BIT)
LED 4K
LED FULL HD (1080P)
LED HD READY (720P)

You can get the TX-50DX700 at ao for £611 with code SMART10, im waiting for it to drop in the sales though.

I wonder what the cheapest 10bit 4k tv is, I dont think my wallet will stretch so will have to make do with 8bit and hope.

That's pretty close, though you also have 12bit and a 10bit hybrid (often describe as 8bit+2), also dolby vision (an extended version of hdr).

And Plasma???

Plasma is mostly dead nowadays.

For some yes, for other no. I'm still watching a 50" Panasonic plasma. Which I bought 7 years ago. LED have not been close to beating the picture quality. Now OLED yes, that is worth upgrading too. I can afford it and the blacks are way better than my Plasma, but besides that, for most of the content I watch, I just wouldn't see much of an improvement to justify the cost outlay.

In regards to 4k and current manufacturers it is dead. I still have a plasma in the living room myself but for 4k the only option is LCD/LED.

Once 4K becomes the standard, then it will be worth upgrading. Just not yet.

+1 That's what I'm waiting for, plus for 4K/HDR standards to actually become 'standardised'

Interesting points. I shelled out for a Panasonic P42V20B a while back. Wasn't bothered by 3D but thinking about HDR now I've got Xbox One S. From what I read though basically us Panasonic plasma (the good models) owners are basically going to have to pay 1.5k as opposed to the £400ish deals I see on here for better picture...is that correct?

Hi will this model work in the UK? Thanks
