Product information

The Panasonic B6 series combines exceptional picture quality with trim design and clever features like USB media playback. Built-in Freeview HD support gives your favourite programmes a high definition makeover and includes a handy electronic TV guide to keep track of them.
Key benefits:
The IPS Panel has a unique liquid crystal alignment, resulting in wider viewing angle, This has been combined with a high-brightness LED that delivers clear images with rich black expression and low power consumption.
With Freeview HD there are over 100 TV and radio channels, including HD services - all without having to take out additional subscriptions or service contracts.
Content stored on an SD card or USB memory stick can easily be played on this TV’s large screen. A selection of customisation functions even let you add background music and effects.
This TV features powerful twin 10W full range speakers with Panasonic’s V-audio processing for more detailed listening.
More devices can be connected at once via the two HDMI ports. This means less time spent switching cables and more time watching the programmes you enjoy.
Includes remote control and component cables.
Sound Bars
With TVs getting slimmer and built-in speakers getting smaller - choosing the right sound system is more important than ever. Sound bars add that extra audio punch to all your movies, games and TV programmes. More affordable and easier to set up than a full size speaker system, they don’t compromise on quality either.

Can't find any reviews for this set, seems a decent price for a basic LED 50".

Same here, no reviews anywhere. The Panasonic site says it has an IPS Alpha screen so it shouldn’t be too bad. 50Hz only 2x HDMI put me off.

But the P50x60b is a Plasma with energy rating of B and it's 720p. It's worth spending 50 pounds more for the TX-L50B6B.

Anyone managed to find a review of this yet?

Panasonic 1080P, how bad can it be?

Panasonic makes the best TVs! HOT

Looks lovely, but missing 3d and smart tv functions.
Still tempted, but probably need the 3d for the wife

Wives eh. Used to be happy with 2D now they want 3D. Men always want double D, guess u can't complain really.

Yeah it’s missing smart features and 3D but factor in its size and the John Lewis warranty it makes for a pretty good deal. I’ve ordered one and its coming on Wednesday to replace a failing 42” LG in the bedroom.

50" 1080p LED, Good brand, John Lewis 5 Year Warranty = £499......HEAT ADDED!!!

We've just taken up Sky's free telly and broadband for a year offer, to be installed in a couple of weeks (we're current O2 Broadband customers) and husband has been making whimpering noises about 50" LED Pannys. I can't be doing with 3D and whimpered myself at spending 800-or-so quid on a telly, so this seems perfect for us. Ordered. Thank you!

Certainly a good price and the JL warranty is a deal clincher for some......The only niggly thing is just 2 HDMI ports.....Heat added though......i'm still running my JL Philips Plasma 42 that i got from them over 6 years ago now....probably the kiss of death saying that........oO

The smart features are pretty poor on Panasonic TVs (I bought last years model hoping for the 'app store' to grow, it hasn't!). BBC iPlayer is the only thing we use which is good. 3D (we bought an active panel) is very hit or miss in our household with a 50/50 split on whether it is of benefit or not!

Just what i've been looking for, 50', LED, full HD, no smart features which I wont use putting the price up as i'll have a HTPC. Ordered and heat.

**** man it's not that cheap

What do you want ? Its a decent price for what it is - you want to pay £300 for a 50" ? Buy a YangCrap made from genuine ....stuff. Guaranteed for 2 days !

sounds a great deal, whats the catch?

2 HDMI is the only issue. Unless you have an AV receiver of course.

Anyone bought it ?

brothers going to look at it tomorrow if they have one on display instore and then he's going to buy one if it looks okay.

Planing to buy but no stock in Cambridge. Let me know brother opinion.

Just bought it. I've had a chance to compare picture quality to other Plasma/LCD TV for few grands - no big difference at all.
Best deal I've ever found in here. Especially if you can get it for £440 with staff discount

Fell free to ask any questions.

.... and excuse my poor English

Any chance of some pics?

Wish there was more info on this telly. I recently purchased the LG50PN650T from amazon for 500 quid and had to send it back due to a stuck pixel, my replacement arrived the day later and low and behold another stuck pixel so that's on it's way back too. Shame, as the picture was superb. Really fancied a plasma over an LED too but I am tempted by this. Advice anyone?

You’re lucky. Our 50” PZ550 3D LG Plasma has three intermittent suck red pixels, they started appearing 13 months after buying it. I cant see them from my viewing distance and they dont spoil the superb picture lol.

great to hear, certainly has put my mind at ease. I gambled and just brought it last night, delivered next week

Went to the Oxford Street store to look at it today. It looks amazing. The picture quality was superb compared to the similarly priced samsungs, which all looked very bad.

The more comments I keep reading are making my purchase feel alot better, I can't wait for it to arrive.

Yes but tomorrow.

Just the set in general, I was just curious to know whether the set had a glossy/reflective or a matt screen. Our John Lewis store doesn’t have these on display and I can’t find any user pics on the internet.

Well. It's not matt neither glossy.

It's something between them.

There is a good chance the information on this TV is wrong with regards to it using an IPS Panel. They don’t manufacture IPS Panels at 50 inches as far as I’m aware. This set probably has a VA Panel.

Can't find Game mode but there is "1080p pixel direct" which seems to be similar setting.
Will test it later with X360

It seems to be IPS Panel cause can be viewed from any angle horizontal and vertical.
Also colours are extremely Vivid. Same as on my Nexus 4 - which is IPS to.

I hope it is an IPS Panel. On the Panasonic site it says it uses an IPS Alpha/Pro screen which means you should get all the benefits of an IPS screen but with better blacks and contrast ratio.
