Would be more than enough for me or anyone else who uses an av receiver.

whadaya mean? its got scart too....

It can have 1 hdmi...I still want.

mmmmm considering getting a Panny 50GT60 for £89 pound more.

might have a look at the reviews on this... to see if sways my thinking.

Would O2 customers still be able to get the £50 priority moments discount (£50 off a £750 spend) off this?

Makes it even better at £949???

I'd love one but don't think the missus is going to go for it, at just over 4 foot wide it's as big as the alcove it would go in

That's great for you and your surround sound buddies. But I'm not interested in all that nerdy crap. I need 4 at least

Lol your calling someone nerdy for telling you u dont really need too many hdmi as can use an av receiver but you need 4 hdmi ports you sound like a nerd to me if you need 4 hdmi techno nerd

And you do know that when your not using one of your hdmi devices you can actually take the hdmi lead out and connect another?

not heard of an hdmi splitter at all if don't want to run thru an av amp?
such as
amazon.co.uk/Koo…out

also most tellys these days are around 3 hdmi mark you may find the odd one 4 plus but you going to be paying right thru the nose for those.
the reason for 3 is going to be
1.sky/virgin box
2.blu-ray/dvd player
3.ps3/xbox
so will cover 95% most peoples needs

And the stupid comment of the day award goes to...

Nice price not sure it's the right tv for me though

Had a look at this instore a few weeks ago and was disappointed with sport - artifacts and blur in particular.

hot deal, my wife would kill me though. I need to replace my 47la690v which has horrible dirty screen effect. Any ideas guys was tempted by the 51inch samsung 5500 plasma?

If you want a panny plasma this is going to be the last year to buy as panny will stop production next april.
I'm guessing samsung will follow suite.

Also looked at the Samsung 5500, some decent reviews. Just not as good as the Panny 50GT60. Would love the Panny 50VT60 but cannot justify anoth £450-£500.

That said. The Samsung 5500 looks a decent set and I really did consider it.

HOT, was looking at the 51" version of this which is up for the same price.

will Richer sounds price match this?

Ok for a nerd yeah!!!

very good tv , bought in may very happy with purchase + heat

7% quidco too

Could be considering this - I would like a 4k TV - how does the 'e-shift upscaling to 4k' work? No idea on this tech but saw a demo in PC world and it looked fantastic! is it just like 'HD Ready' where it just needs a 4k signal or is there some kind of dif tech?
Info appreciated :-)

What hifi gave samsung 5 stars. Need something as this lg is awful for sports due to dse.

It's only 600Hz motion rate. £1000+ should really have 1000Hz as standard.

Id go for the GT60 50" myself. Oh wait, I already did!

Took the words out of my mouth, great price, great TV, heat added, but, couldn't go back to silver.

Had this and returned it due to chronic light pooling at the corners. Opted for Samsung 6670 which is much better, though at this size I'd go for the superb Panasonic ST60.

With Panasonic pulling out of the Plasma market by March next year, wouldn't these be going down in price shortly anyway? I mean, the price is fantastic, but a bit of patience could work wonders in this case?

can i not wall mount this ?

i want 26.5 hdmi sockets on it!! good price for only having 3 tho!

I have the 39 inch Panasonic Viera. It's a really nice television. I would however pick up a sound bar or surround sound system with it, which is my next purchase.

but it's not a plasma?

This question really directed at Nick66 and htfc0614 who have or are considering the Panasonic GT60.

My father in law has just bought the GT60 so I've had a play with it. The screen is very pretty but I don't understand why it is so expensive.

Why would you buy the 50" GT60 over their less expensive models. The GT60 gives you 3D, built-in WIFI, voice recognition, Skype via an optional add-on, a useless lightpen, and My Home Screen. I played with the Apps in Home Screen and didn't think the interface/apps justified the premium over the other large panels such as the ST60. Anybody who can afford a GT60 would also be a Sky or Virgin subscriber and therefore would not use the built-in FreeSat or Freeview tuners or the USB HDD recording feature.

I really want to like the GT60 but I can't see who the market is.

It's not even really 600Hz it's a 100Hz panel that during a frame panasonic turn off the backlight in the top sixth of the screen then switch off the second sixth of the screen and so on to magic up 600Hz. 200Hz would be more accurate.
