No.

It was £614.24 at Amazon earlier this week (they had 5% off this model earlier this week)

But Amazon isn`t John Lewis, (and I know how many people on here would rather pay more to John Lewis for something so they can have a bit of paper that says they can take something back... i wonder whether they ever use that bit of paper?).

Cool, £100 a month sounds good. Couldn't get any Comet codes to work, 5Telly or CAM20.

heres a tip get an LG 50pk590 and be happy its better than this tv seems the new pannys have so many problems.

Great deal! When they were in the middle of changing their prices yesterday, my dad got the 3D version of this tv with the free 5 year warranty, free 3d blue ray player and 2 free pairs of panasonic 3d glasses(£100 each normally i tihnk) all for £896 delivered! Obviously a mis-price but they are defo honoring it!

How good is the JL 5 year warranty? Will they pick up the set and return it from your home? The reason why I ask is that there is no JL stores in N.Ireland....

you need to register with divx... http://www.divx.com/en/movies/register-your-device(you really don't have to give truthful information, but you will need a valid email address, as they'll send you a a confirmation. Once you got that and have downloaded divx player, in settings it will let you complete registration and allow you to download a small divx file - put that file on a SD and play it on telly - you're then 'unlocked' to play avi

(sorry for long-windedness.........you'll figure it out. If you have trouble, pm me and I'll send you the file - just not sure if it's unique to my tv)

Dixon's Tech Guy installed my Samsung last week and told me they have more call-outs to LG panels than any other brand by a mile and advised me to steer well clear of them.

I bought the 42G20 recently and runs video MTS files (& stills) straight from my Panasonic TZ7 camera. I had trouble finding an editor / converter but avs4you.com Video Editor does a very good job. The format required for the TV is HD Video 720p: MPEG-4 (DivX, Xvid) 4500kbps, Audio MP3: 192kbps.
The manual says the TV also works with MPEG - 2 (PS format) but I have not got that far yet. I do not know why they have to be so awkward (I am still trying to get Transformers DivX licence to work) but keep trying - there is a way.

I was told that if it's under 28 days since you bought it, you should be entitled to the difference

JL is the cheapest is has been till date with 5yr warranty... just order mine last night

erniesone

you only have to register if you have a purchased divx movie. if you have downloaded it from the internet via torrent or other source it should work. I've got it to work without registration

(To play purchased DivX movies beyond your computer, you will first need to complete a one-time registration of your DivX Certified device.)

Jeczap, Thanks.... I did try that before with no luck, but I will give it another go. erniesone, I will give that converter a go but I may have used that before as well!! I could Rip that Panasonic off the wall! If it would play some Video formats it would be a start....I was going to get a Panasonic HDC-SD60, but will the card work straight out of the camera if I put it into this TV ?? I can't take the chance!

What, even with the 5 year warranty?

Ha ha, the fat knobblehead at Comet today tried to tell me that Panasonic had offered them their 5 year warranty deal and they had refused it because "our customer service is so good, it's like having a warranty anyway." I laughed and walked out.

Has anybody had any luck with Richer Sounds beating JL prices with 5yr warranties included?

Richer sounds is £770'ish with 5yr warranty. JL is £630

Price difference of £140. So theoretically Richer Sounds state they will drop price by upto max of £100 off the competitor price so giving us this TV for £530 with the 5yr warranrty with a Tenner in our hand as well!!!.... Have I got That right?

Here's what their site says:-

If you do find the product you want for less, we will still beat any lower price by up to £100.

• All that we ask is that the product be brand new, boxed and actually in stock at time of purchase.

• We will happily price beat against other web retailers (must include next day P&P when products can't be collected locally i.e. within 20 miles) as long as we can verify stocks.

• Price beat on TVs applies after adding the price of our ridiculously cheap 5 year warranty to our price, and the competitor's equivalent 5 year warranty to their price. Note our 5 year warranties are incredible value: a fraction of the prices charged by our competitors, just 10% of the purchase price. For example, a 5 year 'at home' warranty on a Philips 32" LCD TV at £399.95 is just a one off payment of only £39.95.

Here's an example of how the price beat works including warranty costs:
Richer Sounds - 37xxx TV : £599.95 plus 5 year 'at home' guarantee : £59.95 gives a total of £659.90
Unlikely Retailer - 37xxx TV : £549.95 plus 5 year 'at home' guarantee : £99.95 gives a total of £649.90

So, with the cost of both warranties added, the other retailer is cheaper by £10. We will beat their price by £10 and sell the TV, including 5 year warranty, for £639.90!

• Our Price Challenge is even valid up to 7 days after purchase!

Richer Sounds Price Beat Link

I paid £764.95 for this TV from John Lewis 27 days ago!
On the phone now to try and get the £135 difference refunded. Will be a right result if I get it!
I can then put it towards the blu-ray home cinema system. Result.

Products over £4001: £100

Products from £3001 to £4000: £50

Products from £1001 to £3000: £20

Products from £301 to £1000: £10

Products up to £300: £5

So you will save £10 going with Richersounds. I'd still rather go with JL to be honest. I have a 25 quid JL voucher which I am waiting for after signing up to BT, I'll wait for that then go for the deal, even though I have the feeling this will be expired at the end of today (as Comet raises its price back up)

thanks for clarifying that Tianuk3

So, RS will beat it by only £10. Guess i'll go to JL instead.

No worries :-) I may be wrong, but that is what I understand from that page, otherwise it all sounds a bit too good to be true :-)
