Bargain!!, I got one of these from the clearance store for £350, gutted I sold it - Amazing telly
Edited by: "RustySpoons" 29th Jul 2011
good price
But it's a plasma, I had a similar model on trail, as a LCD/LED owner, I couldn't put up with the poor performance of the brightness levels and the greyish whites tones, it was returned, however on the other hand, a plasma owner going to a LCD/LED probably will critise the blacks!
six of one, half a dozen of the other.
I would love to see a Freeview HD, FreeSat HD, 55" LED TV at a bargain price..I'll just dream on!
TX-P42VT20 is the best of the last year model 3D TV (my opinion). I recommend to buy it if you need this size and dont want to spend on this year model. I would buy it myself if it is a bigger screen.

Better karma if you offer the code to the first poster! No vote.

The code won't work on Dixons website. TVCUR5 is a currys code.
This is a different deal. In fact I cancelled my PCWorld order (part of the same group) to buy cheaper from Currys.

It will end in tears if you try to cut the TV down. :-)

would be a bloody good YouTube video though!
Best TV on sale from the 2010 range, bargain at this price.
So should I go for this or the Samsung 46D8000?
Nice set if you can live with the 50Hz bug.

Fantastic telly, and an amazing price with the stand and everything.
I got bought this tv in February as a gift and I am really pleased with it. We did however pay £1300 for the tv, 3 pairs of glasses and the 3d bluray player. picture is crystal clear and very sharp.
This set has a fantastic picture. Package price is excellent.
excellent deal, but bought recently p50g20b for £650 from JL, this one would be nice supplement in smaller room..
I am very tempted to get this being thinking of getting one for a while and on looking in Currys i can remember that the Panasonic Plasma was the best quality picture in store.
Only thing that is putting me off is the amount of glasses you get.
How much are Panasonic ones, ive seen you can get compatible ones, but how good are they? Think they would match in store??
What shall i do haha
Hi guys,

Any of you lot used this TV for xbox gaming? Anyone point me in the direction of this vs say a similar priced LED, I can't decide whether I want LED or Plasma!

Cheers

Yeah it'll be great for gaming, input lag for 2D is 47ms, a bit on the high side, but it's still not too bad. Strange though that for 2D it's only 16ms.

HDTV Test have an in-depth review here that covers gaming quite well

hdtvtest.co.uk/new…htm

You're always going to have input lag though with most console gaming being done now with wireless controllers never mind just the TV itself.

I'm probably accused of being a Panny FanBoy by the SFBs, but it's language like his that get you certified, right or wrong.

Getting your hands on a Kuro now though is nigh on impossible, I'm on about what's on sale at present and the VT (along with the VT30) is pretty much the best around.
seems to be a decent screen went in store and saw it i would say passive 3d looks good to

What's the ****? I can't find a suitable word to go there following the context of what you've quoted?
What model glasses does this set come with? I need 4 pairs, but the panny ones seem to be very expensive compared to other brands.

(managed to get 4 pairs with another set I bought last week for another room)

Anyone buying the bluray player to get the 4 free 3d films ?
ended up collecting the last one near me yesterday from store, but paid £699.01. To be honest, this TV is awesome. Got the 50" G10 in my cinema room from a couple of years ago, and this is clearly a better panel. Really really pleased with it, and considering it`s on clearance in store with ex-display models at £898.00 it's a bargin.6 months ago this was the flagship at £1699.00, and it ain`t that much difference in spec to the 2011 MY, from what I can see.
also got the bluray player and the 4 films too
Saw the 50" for sale in Comet earlier. Great picture but not a fan of the set - looks quite dated for me.

Appreciate TV's these days are not just about aesthetics, but it is a factor in my decision.

They actually had a 50" model for sale in Comet for £699 - but I forgot to take a picture. That is in Parkgate, Rotherham if anyone is interested.
Even better. Go to the Currys website through Quidco and you get a discount of £34.95 using voucher code TVCUR5. You also get £16.60 cash back paid into your bank account. Dont forget to bundle it up with the stand and pay an extra 2p. So from an internet price of £699.01 it goes down to £647.46.
