38959405-N6bnG.jpg38959405-C9lpm.jpgI build stuff like this, you can source the parts in the uk etc for about £220 to build a 19'' bartop setup, its really just down to the monitor you use. its a tremendous amount of fun too, plenty of videos on youtube for making the case out of mdf etc. Ive only used the flatpack bitcade kits which cost £116 delivered for the melimine ones from arcadeworlduk.com stuff like the buttons are cheap from amazon (2x sets for £19) and a raspberry pi fron cex for £28. A decent case and psu will cost 10-12£. plenty of nice 19 inch monitors about for a tenner that work great as you really dont need to go past 720p. The 24'' one on the right I repaired for someone, the Outrun themed one is mine ...

This looks quite nice, I have a Picade and they are great fun. Any idea what the Pandora emulation is like?

Honestly not sure, does look pretty nifty though!
Looks great but it comes flat packed for self assembly, that's not so great
That's a very good price for a two player Bartop. Pandora's box emulation is not perfect, but it's definitely adequate for 99% of the games on there.
A list of the games would be good

How easy would it be to put a Pi ( with RetroPie on ) in it instead?

Looks nice though as long you have the kind of 'bar top' to cater for people on both sides ( as opposed to the usual bar top ones which are built to go against a wall )
Actually looks quite good
Be aware that you will have to pay import duty.

I'm not sure whether a Pi would work with two screens. I've built a few bartops and have always used a bare bones pc.

If you're gonna be gaming for hours on end, just get a Pi with a nice case, plug it into your tv, attach some controllers and sit back on your comfy chair and play away.

Great stuff, thanks a lot
It ended up costing me £158 once all the coupons had been added.
Some of the reviews seem to indicate this is shipped without games (which is weird for a Pandora's Box machine) so ensure you know what you are doing/where to look.

I think so, when marked down I have never had any charges. but I could have just been lucky
Ive also messaged them asking how you get the games if not included initially.

They send you a link to download them all in one file. Slap them on a micro SD, stick it in the box and your away.

Good to know, thanks
Looks quite good if you want 2 player on seperate screens. However the screens on the picade are better quality, and larger (10inch version).
Also ... what about the 9d version with nearly twice as many supported games and @£166??

Pandora's Box boards are awful, I have a couple of them (including the 6) for my Astro City and they have loads of graphical, lag and sound issues.

I have never seen the point in these....why buy and build when you can buy a modern day console for this price
Most modern day consoles (Nintendo Switch excluded) require a tv to use them. This could be plonked in the middle of a table, to keep unruly kids occupied for a while. Then packed put away again.

Seems like a good idea to me. I assume both screens have the same image at all times and you cannot play a different game on each screen. Can anyone confirm?

Ace place, I'm due another trip there soon
Interesting, although the sticker on the side is a worry as it reads "stay away from water" & "please restart the machine if it crashes". Can't fault the price though!
Came to £164 for me after adding coupons. Couldn't resist.

Great for this and the people doing the self build ones too. Always fancied making one of the self build pin ball machines that use flat screen TVs. All nice stuff

Just wondering what coupons you used to get it to that price?
Cheers!!
I think the vouchers were specifically for the 11.11 sale. It was £1.52 of every x amount spent if I remember correctly, ive slept since yesterday!!
Actually seems like they are still active, see image below

You may need to be logged into the page in order to see them but you can get £25 off using the codes

I just clicked on the "get coupons" tab at checkout and clicked on/added everything I could. That's where the price ended up (actually said £161 then increased to £164 somewhere along the way).
