You would have her walking around with Quim on her wrist?!
They are sold buy weight in jewellery wholesalers in Thailand - irrespective of the design - where much of the silvery jewellery is manufactured. So at wholesalers there they cost around £3.50. So £5 here is very cheap. For silver jewellery the mark up is typically around 10x the wholesale price. (I have been buying silver jewellery from Thailand for the last 5 years, including Pandora, Links and Zircona). People like pandora stuff and will pay £100 for a bracelet - I buy them for less than around £8.50 each. There is the option of buying them with and without the Pandora branding as officially you can only buy them from franchised retail stores. There is little real monetary value in silver. The value is in the design, but as the majority of silver is mass produced factory churned products there is no real value even in that. The higher it is priced the more it is valued - even though it has little monetary value. There must be a suitable saying for this? Did you see the fabric chord bracelets? £19 for that? Where is Ratner? My sister sold jewellery in various markets and most of the jewellery sellers who sold "handcrafted silver" were just selling factory produced products.
