Good film, what Freddie Mercury was doing in it I don't know

Maybe he wanted to break free.

I was hoping this deal was for the original version, starring Steve McQueen. Has anyone seen both and can comment on this re-make?

Seen both. Didn't see the point of the remake. IMHO it added nothing and I think the original is better. Probably made with new actors to appeal to a younger audience.

The remake was very good. It's obviously different from the original. I think both version are good in their own right. I really like Mallek in the new one, and it was nice to see a little drama fleshed out for the crime that Paps was framed for.
It's an OK movie , but as one critic said '' There's a reason studios rarely attempt to remake a Steve McQueen movie''
If you want to see real drama watch the original
Thanks, all - I think I'll pass and wait until it comes on Netflix/Prime/free-to-view.

Have to say I agree there. It would be a very brave person who tried to remake Bullitt

i know this is what everyone says, but dont watch either, read the book. the book goes down as one of my favourite reads ever. the films dont even come close.
i actually thought the remake had more content in regarding the book compared to the original so even though i didnt like either movies, id say the remake is better.
A harrowing watch, but a great film. Great actors. Thumbs up from me.
