Hmm. That is confusing. All I know is I can download the full version and get a new licence key. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Wondering, did you get a full license for an upgrade price even without owning any previous versions? Have you installed successfully?

You sure about that? Why would there be two versions then?

ah cool...will do me nicely then, thank you.

You don't need a previous edition. You'll get a download link and licence key.

Yes its maintenance for 1yr...meaning you can use it forever but only get free upgrades for 1yr

Main reason I switched to Parallels is battery life...on my Macbook Pro retina I get around 11hrs with OSX, 8hrs with a Win7 VM in Parallels and a weedy 5-6hrs running a Win7 vm in Virtualbox

There's many options, upgrade has one-off purchase and 1 year sub and buying new has one-off and 1 year sub. What is the 1 year subscription? You can use it for one year only or the way it seems to be described, which is latest updates for 1 year but can still keep after one year?

Yeah, it's not as snazzy and macOS-like, but it certainly does the job. I switched from Parallels to VirtualBox some years ago when my version needed an (expensive) upgrade, and can honestly say I haven't missed Parallels for my usage (mainly testing websites on various Windows browsers).

That's a good deal

I always avoid PayPal's own exchange rate. I got the bundle for $30 USD (bank shows it was £22.28).

went through proxy, paypal rate not great but have Santander credit card that has no fees for foreign purchase. Still deliberating if I really need it. How much difd they give you the 1password bundle for ?

I tried but keep getting sent to the UK store, I didn't bother in the end and as I only wanted 1Password from this I emailed them and they was kind enough to give me a discount for the Mac/Win bundle you could try a proxy but idk.

Do you think it's possible to order this from the US store ? - Works out at £53 ish Works out at £54.89 via paypal

Parallels for Mac upgrade (bundled with software including 1 Year of Evernote Premium)

You would need to purchase the full version as this is just an upgrade for a previously installed version. From memory when you enter the serial number it then sends a request to their server to see if it's all correct and above board… I think?!

Could some one help please, I got a new machine, with no parallels before, do I buy this for £35 or for £65 , is there a walkaround to get the upgrade to work for a new install? Especially it is £35 just for Parallels at Amazon

What you store in Evernote, is your choice.

I bought the previous version boxed for £29 from pc world, I'll wait for another deal like that. Version 10 runs Windows 10 on latest OS X just don't get all features. I bet they coded that on purpose with an update to v 10 to get ppl to upgrade

no but if it was I'm sure my credit card company would cover any losses, not sure they'd feel the same if I'd kept scans of all my 'personal' information at Evernote.

This should be scorching hot, even if this was just for Camtasia it would be hot. I've used Parallels 8 for over a year now its a rock solid product. This is definitely a bundle that priced at over £100 would still offer great value for money, at £35 its an absolute steal.

I was refusing to update parallels and just had this offer pop up. Cracking deal! I was just being a tight ass as parallels is completely seamless offering what feels like a native windows experience, even for advanced stuff like multi monitor support etc. I was going to get it upgraded at some point but I was definitely going to be buying camtasia in the coming days so this deal is a bit of a dream to get it less than half price (vat regged) as well as the other apps "1Password is the best password manager by far" Horses/Courses but I find lastpass to be totally seamless at a fraction of the price (well, not with this deal!)

Virtualbox does all the basics well, but Parallels is incredibly streamlined. Just a couple of my favourites: - Its express install of VM's lets you install windows in a couple minutes, without having to fill in anything or hit any prompts. - It does all the guest additions stuff without any work. - It also shares folders automatically, everything, making the two OS's feel like one. - The performance is miles ahead, you can actually use parallels to run windows only games (not perfect, but pretty well considering), and can run graphics heavy programs as well. - Its sharing of USB and Card Readers is easier and less buggy than virtualbox - It also handles bridged network connections pretty well, something virtualbox doesn't always get right. Its not half bad with Linux as well.

Not too sure. I've only used VMWare Fusion as a comparison and really, they're much the same. I would imagine VirtualBox might be okay if you don't really need to do much. There's a good review of them here

how does parallels compare with VirtualBox. Acronis true image looks a handy tool too.

Parallels 9 upgrade sale £27.99 @ parallels software
Found 23rd Jun 2014Found 23rd Jun 2014
Parallels upgrade is on sale again for those who want to go down the Parallels route. Was £34.99 now reduced to £27.99

Due out in September, August at the earliest, looking at past annual releases. The best time to grab a bargain is to catch the cheaper price + free upgrade to 10. Currently too early.

You sure Paralls v10 is'nt due out soon with the coming release of Yosomite? may be worth waiting a while just incase.

Like Virtual Box but could not get around hardware driver issues for things such as USB support from what I'm able to recall. Like Parallels too but think it's frustrating that further to OSX Mavericks being launched the version I'd bought no longer works. Kind of forced into upgrading and that's not something I've taken a liking to in all honesty but they did advise of incompatibilities in fairness to them. Think the upgrade should be more competitively priced. The bundle seems better value than buying Parallels only though.

Virtual Box does the job brilliantly, Parallels is anyway overpriced, used their trial once, cant find any benefits of using parallels over virtual box.

LOL it gets 2 stars out of 44 reviews!

Cant bring it up on my mac. Ill try and google it. Tx

I've bought Parallels twice now, and I'm not happy. Every big Mac OS update breaks it, and you can't run it without paying for a newer version.
