This frightening and supernatural film portrays the story of Katie and Micah, a carefree couple who become haunted by an unseen presence in their house. They decide to investigate the increasingly bizarre and escalating intrusions by setting up a video camera to capture evidence of the demonic presence in their house, only to find much more than they ever imagined.

Katie (Katie Featherson) and Micah (Micah Sloat) are a twenty-something couple who've just moved into a new home in San Diego, California. Katie has an interest in the paranormal and believes that malevolent spirits have been following her since childhood, though Micah is not so easily convinced. However, after several nights of loud noises and strange happenings, Micah starts to agree with Katie that some sort of ghost may have followed them to the new home. After a paranormal researcher tells the couple he can't help them, Micah decides to take control of the situation and sets up a battery of video cameras so if a spirit manifests itself, he can capture its behavior on tape. Once the surveillance cameras are in place, Katie and Micah bring in an Ouija board in an effort to talk to the spirits, a move that deeply offends the ghosts. Paranormal Activity was the first feature film from writer and director Oren Peli.

I only ever buy Blu-Rays when they are priced below £6.00, so thanks for this!

Really enjoyed this - quite creepy (unlike Blair Witch, which is often compared). Not terrifying, but creepy nonetheless...

Easily one of the worst films ive ever seen. Not trying to sound over dramatic but it really was.

Most films I give heat because the price is good and the film quality doesn't normally come into the equation however this film is so terrible I will have to vote cold. This film is the worst film I have ever seen.

Watched this today, I really enjoyed it.

Good price! Not everyone's cup of tea but I loved it, very tense and jumpy all throughout, especially with the lights out. Believable too!

One thing though, this film is filmed as if it was filmed on a home camera (sort of), so watching it in BluRay quality won't make much difference! If you do happen to see it cheaper on DVD, just get that, but this is a very good price for the BluRay!

Wouldn't buy it for £1...
Unfortunately, I didn't find out how bad it was until after I paid to watch it at the cinema.

if you get this skip to the last minute, and save yourself the 90 minute "build up"

This is a marmite film although I do wonder what if anything Blu Ray transfer will add to a film that was shot in such a particular way.

And for such a low budget as well. I haven't seen the film, but it's amazing how much success they had with a movie made with hardly anything at all.

Good find, DVD only versionalso available for only £3.99 at Tesco.com plus 9% quidco.

Agree completely on both points.

It's (initially) a very subtle and low budget film. The creepiness comes from the 'real world' setting and documentary feel of the ordinary made sinister. Like all films, you have to obviously suspend disbelief to enjoy it.

Good deal for a popular BD.

I did enjoy this film, but I totally agree about the pointlessness of having it on BluRay. If I was to buy it, I'd use Bioman1's link to save a couple of quid.

I'm looking forward to the second one, although I do suspect that it will be a 'book of shadows' job and just ruin the whole thing.

From a deal point of view I'd say cold, purely because paying the extra for the BluRay version isn't worth it.

Crap film. Wasted £5 on the DVD ...
