The bases for these are on b&q's website too for £16 each …The bases for these are on b&q's website too for £16 each diy.com/departments/tivano-047-m-black-parasol-base/1851205_BQ.prdIm looking to buy one of these parasols but if you end up wanting all 4 quarters, they end up costing more than the parasol itself! crazy

It says you need three not four.

£1.90 for a bag of sand. Might not look pretty but does the job on mine...

Im only going by the reviews. Somebody bought 4 as supposedly 2 or 3 look weird.

It does look a bit odd. We just bought a similar one, I've bought 2 quarters. Holds up fine, but it does look like we've cheaped out on the base.
Why don't they just do the old fashioned plastic mold you fill with water... Reviews really bad lots saying it's not very stable with the slightest breeze.
I'd just screw it to the concrete why spend a fortune on a weight.
I have this exact parasol and its great.

If yoiu want a good base may i suggest Ebay as this is the one i have bought just fill with water

ebay.co.uk/itm…023

It does not move at all, i did have to make 2 of the screw holes slightly larger on the parasol leg to fit the base of the parasol stand tho

I thought you filled these bases with sand ? Sand far heavier than water . Makes the base more stable .
About the way ,if you have a B&Q club card (or register for one before you buy ) and spend in store or online A welcome voucher for £5 off when you spend £30.
If you are aged over 60... B&Q offer 10% discount every Wednesday (in-store only). Just sign up to the diamond club.
when packed up will this fit in a smallish car, like seat Ibiza, Polo etc..??

fill with sand harder to move, fill with water just drain it out, mines full water and i can assure you it aint going anywhere

Thats exactly what I thought. Doesn't make any sense.
I got one from Aldi for £40 and bought some nicer paying slabs for £16

a couple or three old pavers (usually free on gumtree etc) and a bag of nice cotswool stone to cover them (from asda £3) - have fun.
it looks much better than the metal (rusting soon) "bases".
These were £27 back in march. Be wary of reviews from folk her bought it really cheap. Low expectations
How solid is it if it's windy? Like does the umbrella shake all over? I know your gonna be using it during a storm but if there's a breeze will it snap off?
