I wonder whether she booked the Parcel Shop delivery, without reading the t's and c's. Then sat there waiting at home for a collection, when she should have been handing it over at a shop!

You're doing hermes no favours by posting that. And quite obviously people are going elsewhere. I understand you are not getting paid much but that is an issue for you and your employer. Customers buy a service and want to receive their item safely. At the same time if you dislike the pay you can also go elsewhere. While i am not accusing you it seems like there is a significant amount of drivers just throwing the items and leaving the item outside homes regardless of risk.

hermescouriermike

Being a courier for Hermes. Thank you For all the positive comments for MyHermes, For the Negative comments... You order/buy something so you are expecting a courier to knock on your door.... so why the hell arnt you home. Hermes couriers are self-employed and get paid min 45p per parcel once it has been delivered and not for every attempt... You dont like the service bloody go elsewhere,

Mark5211

Sent 2 parcels to the same person, same item, One with Hermes 4-5 Days and one with UPS 48 Hour, The Hermes one arrived before 1pm yesterday and they are still waiting for the UPS one over 28 hours after the Hermes parcel arrived (even though UPS say they attempted a delivery yesterday which they certainly didn't as the company have a 24 Hour reception and no card was left). Just checked the UPS site and its been 'delayed' for another business day, think Ill stick to Hermes in future.

The code is LABELFREE Enter that when prompted, it only covers delivery and signature, increased insurance above £20 default is additional.

That's nothing. Parcel2go told me that my parcel had been stolen by **** and that they were dredging the canal to find it. I kid you not:

Arold

I HATE Parcel2Go. Worst of all (ignoring the couriers themselves), there's no way of using up prepay balance in part-payment, you have to write it off or add even more - tantamount to theft. They make it impossible or at least near-impossible to get in touch by phone, and even 'chat' is hard to find. They're appalling at dealing with problems, and there's a high chance you'll have problems if you use them. They publish only positive reviews on their website. And there's no way of changing the email address on an account - you have to create a new account! What an appalling operation. Be ashamed, be embarrassed, people who work there.

tomhowden

I've used the UPS Store to Store service today and it was OK. The nearest drop off point was closed despite what Parcel2go's information states however I handed over my parcels at the second nearest outlet with no issues.

my did too, parcel2go and hermes couldn't give a damn - hermes are useless luckily I paid for insurance so parcel2go refunded the postage and item cost but not the insurance - 9 weeks battles but I gave in and reported them to trading standards, etc.posted this on their facebook. they must have STUPID people working for them as basically they've stolen £5 off me for a short term gain but they've lost £100's a month in trade from me now - they can get f**ked "Terrible company. Well I have reluctantly accepted your pathetic offer as I cant be bothered to argue anymore. So basically your company has stolen £5 off me as you wont pay back the insurance cover in case you do a pathetically bad job. Well done, you've won for now. Short term gain. I sell 10-40 parcels a day and will not be using your company again. That in my book is a business fail. You may laugh and think you've got away with it but I have reported your company to Trading Standards, Ofcom, consumer direct. I am also one of the biggest posters on several forums like moneysavingexpert (500,000+ users) and hotukdeals (1 million+ users) and i shall post my rubbish experience. I will also add my experience to my many Facebook forums. I call that a 2nd fail. Company's like yours don't deserve to be in business. You can judge how good a business is when something goes wrong. You get less than 0 out of a 100. I'd like to know how I get my credit back from my 2 accounts and then how I close them?"

shey_mcoy08

you will be scratching you're head or better yet you will be smashing it on the wall. they are useless and a lot of people know it. they should be reported on consumer watchdog. they take your money then if something goes wrong they make a reason not to refund you. happened to me and to a lot of people on this thread. don't say i didn't warn you all... no telephone number just a chat session to discuss your problem. such a very very bad company! NEVER AGAIN....

“Excellent record as Chancellor” Abolished the 10p tax rate sold Gold at record lows, tried to sell the Post office. And Spend, Spend, Spend. The man was a bl**dy disaster. And it was Labour who signed the contract with G4S ;)

Newbold

A fair point about the introduction of fees, but £27000 as against £9000 over a three year course is in a bit of a different league. Brown may not have been the best PM ever (though he had an excellent record as Chancellor until world events changed everything across the world) - but by comparison with Cameron he was a genius. The failures and u-turns of this government defy belief, and the list grows longer every day. The Olympic G4S mess is just the latest example.

Geemac

And who introduced fees in the first place? And as for incompetent = Gordon Brown ;)

I've used p2go a few times but stopped as I asked for 3 parcels to be collected and no one turned up, I now use p4d.co.uk they are brilliant.

inihuo

I'll never use them again, I sent 12 parcels with them, 8 were 'lost' they wouldn't cooperate with the police. I believe the couriers themselves to have stolen them parcel2go declaimed all responsilibity saying they didn't manage the couriers they were just an intermediary.

I totally agree. PARCEL2GO is a company to avoid. I've used them quite a few times, when things go wrong, you will face a battle to get any result. There's a claim form on their website, I filled in the claim form, and got nothing from them, no reply, no follow up. In the end, I just gave up. Now I juse P4D.co.uk, same format as Parcel2go, but their customer service is miles better. You can actually speak to a person, even email correspondence is quick. Once I sent a parcel to France, and the delivery time was over their listed time period. I emailed them, quoted the overtime, and they paid a penalty fee to me straigtaway.

pet2000

ooops what happen here?

pet2000

The way to do it: sign and write the word "unchecked" just obove your signature. This way you can make a claim later after you have discovered the damage. Instruct your client that when there is damage visible on the outside of the package, to ask the driver to fill-in a damage report and keep a copy.

Parcels with tracking don't get lost. They get stolen :) I have no hope for this outfit. I believe they contract their drivers on an individual basis, and seem to have talent for attracting the worst sort. Ordered something off play 6 days ago. No delivery, no card to tell me they had attempted delivery...Only by chance I thought to visit their website and arrange re-delivery. If I hadn't, parcel would get stolen if left in their depots a few more days...I mean "lost". I used them once with Amazon 2 years ago, and awful experience. Item arrived like it had been dropped from heights, as outer box was ripped, rain damaged and inner contents damaged. Will they ever get better? Perhaps put webcams on driver hats and let customers monitor them?

Guys - Just an update on Parceltree, used them twice last week and although the packages arrived safely enough (via DHL), The first collection was a day late and the 2nd Parcel which was down for A Saturday delivery did not arrive until the Monday - Not necessarily there fault but my dealings direct with Parceltree left me feeling that they were exceptionally amateurish. There is no contact number on the website for them, though the chap who runs it phoned me about my issues and gave me a mobile number for future issues. I don't think that I will need it though as price isn't everything, I think I will be going back to using p2g as at least you can get hold of someone on the phone. All in all, the reason that these guys are this price is because the service isn't guaranteed, if you want the guarantees then you need to book with the big boys or pay £13.99 + Vat with P2G to use city link. Cuddy

That's why I put for example in nice bold letters above :) Your notion of settling at the end of the month does seems like a reasonable approach as well, especially with the international services. In any case, they must be making enough profit for them to consider continuing as long as they have. I'm guessing that it's probably only 2-3 people that actually work there in order to keep overheads down.

its a bit more than that though - i mean i just did a test run and for a normal size package on the DHL site, it would cost me £20 - but they are doing it for just £5.99 on ebay. surely they cant be getting that much of a discount! if they are doing it for say £3 each and have to buy 1000 - then thats a very big saving of £17 per parcel. payperdrop are the leaders really on ebay - they started with 90, then 990 and now i see one of their ebay auctions has 1000s left, and they will sell a lot of them. they have to be raking it in. and i doubt they pay up front either - because they have a lot of world services, and i doubt they ever get anyone buying them (3000 quid to send something to afghanistan) so i guess they must settle up at the end of the month.

Cuddy

I don't exactly know for sure so this is total speculation on my part... The eBay seller essentially buys 1000 collections + delivery bookings in bulk from DHL. Obviously he, nor DHL, can anticipate when the eBay seller's buyers are going to need the service so DHL just charge him for example £1000 and say that he has 30 days to use the 1000 bookings as and whenever needed**. After 30 days, any unused booking slots are lost. Here, buying the bookings in bulk mean they work out as £1 each whereas a customer going direct to the DHL website might find that purchasing a one off booking costs £5. In the space of 30 days, that eBay seller then sells on as many of those bookings as possible at, again, for example £3 each. This is cheaper than going direct to DHL and buying a one off and so customers choose the eBay seller's service instead. The seller still makes £2 per booking and so everyone wins. If he manages to sell all 1000 bookings then he get's back £3000 which makes a profit of £2000 having spent £1000 to get those bookings in the first place. This is the only way I can see that the eBay sellers make money from this kind of reselling. It has to be bulk selling by companies, such as DHL, of bookings at a lower per booking cost and the sellers then resell at higher price whilst still undercutting the delivery company at their advertised rate for one off bookings. ** Imagine this being like the free minutes a telco gives you on a monthly basis for your mobile phone contract. The telco doesn't say you can only use 10 minutes each day of the month out of the 300mins they supply. You can use them all up on the first day given to you, or the last day or spread them out.

When it works they are fine.....if it doesnt (and I have had 3 problems with them) then they are absolutely horrendous!!!!! Long queues on the phones (wonder why), very slow email response and trying to get a refund for a failed pick up took 2 months, 3 phone calls, 4 emails and one letter! Ive gone back to them after each problem thinking it may have been an isolated incident but NEVER again. I now use www.parcels4delivery.com after recommendations on the eBay board. Cheaper than Parcel2go (except this Saturday obviously), never failed to pick up and excellent customer service. If you select their own delivery service then it tends to be Parcelforce that collect.

amino

ive used parcel2go(DHL) before and have had absoloutley no issues at all:confused:

Steveyorkie

steffcip

I sent with P2G to Ireland No problems at all

P2G have a very bad reputation on ebays P&P board. I'm not knocking them, just informing you. Hell would freeze over before I send anything with P2G.
