If you like me have a jigsaw or circular saw and can't cut a straight line why not try this. a four foot long straight edge that clamps and can pivot I'm sure you can find more uses for it!

Quick look, similar items seem to be double the price on Amazon...

Been happy with some Parkside bits and pieces bought in the past. Handy.
Good price. I have a couple of similar ones I bought from rutlands several years ago. They come in very handy. Heat.
Looking up 4 foots indicates this to be approximately 1.2m long. Seems pretty useful.

Actually; it states the length on the Lidl website, so for accuracy; 1.22m

5 foot would be better given that a lot of wood comes in 4 foot lengths in this country but for this price, HOT
Could have really done with this last week!
Picked one up can be used as a clamp as well
Does anyone know if the quoted 122cm is the maximum length of wood that can be clamped or the overall length of the tool including clamps? The website doesn't make this clear.

Got one of these from lidl a couple of years ago - excellent bit of kit, used numerous times during a house refurb.

102 cm about 40 inch.

102 cm about 40 inch.

I second that. The straight edge is 123cm (48.5") long and has 11mm of height on the flat edge. 5cm width. Clamp pads are 50mm wide, 40mm tall and squeezes up about 3mm

From the box: expansion range 0-100cm, cutting angle 0-20°

(Also see reply slightly further up)

I guess its good enough for the worktops (630mm)
The crucial question is - will it fit across a sheet of 8x4?

Reading the above it doesn't look like it. Would have bought one but meh.....

Yes, that was the very reason I asked my question above and, judging by the replies, the answer is no.
It seems it will only take a workpiece of about 100cm (1000mm) and an 8 x 4 sheet is 2440mm x 1220mm.
A pity, because most of the things I cut come in 8 x 4 sheets.

You could just use a 1200mm level clamped to the plywood sheet as it will do the same job as this clamp from Lidl, that's what I used to do until I got myself a plunge saw with guide rails

^^ Jus sayin'

Saves the mental effort of calculating your blade offset as well, clamp it right at the cut line and go...

They do. The idea is so simple its brilliant I use a small one about 1 1/2 foot with a bit of wood screwed underneath at 90 degrees for quickly cutting/squaring the ends on bits of wood/cladding etc.
