I've had for about a year now. Don't use the blades given. I would invest in good metal cutting blades and a 4ah battery as it can struggle
Edited by: "muturola" 5th Jun
Thank you for your thoughts. I was thinking of getting the blades from Lidl. What blade you use?

Few points to note
a. This is a brushed tool
b. As noted by @muturola 4ah battery is better
c. No other brand battery is compatible

Will keep an eye out for this. Best place for a 4ah battery?

Thank you
I have several of the 20V tools from lidl the same batteries as their 20V florabest garden tools.
I'm sure this £25 when they sold this last year. not a big increase but still...
4 ah Battery was £35 and charger was £15, last known price at my local. Was advised they don't keep these on the shelves due to high theft.

Inflation plus our currency being in the gutter means anything like this cost more as they are made abroad

The fact that it is brushed, doesn't really matter to be honest. The real problem with this tool, as I found out after buying one a year ago, is that it will cut out on overload when you start to put any real pressure onto the metal etc that you are cutting. It is ok for very light use when you away from a power source, but other than that, not that great to be honest. I am also use Tyrolit cutting discs as I work in the grinding industry and they are one of the best, but doesn't make any difference as the machine is the weak link here. Obviously a 4Ah battery will last long, but doesn't help with useable power. I wouldn't purchase another one for what I need it for.
But don't you think brushed tools put more strain on battery? Which cordless angle grinder you recommend?

While I'm not sure what Lidl has changed, the 2019 model seems to be different from the one sold previously. For one thing, it takes 125mm discs. The first X20 model also lacked a speed adjustment which allows the (safer) use of wire brushes

The one I seen in 2018 from Lidl definitely had a speed control and that was for £25 not sure about the disc sizes though
That must be store specific, X20 tools were always 19.99 (multitool & impact driver) and 29.99 (angle grinder / sabre saw)

Man I really wish Lidl would sell the parkside impact wrench. Looks like a beast!

For anyone who's interested in the reciprocating saw, I can highly recommend it. Worth investing in some decent blades though.

Draper have started selling an impact wrench which is the same as the parkside, just needs a slight mod to be able to fit the parkside batteries in it.

It's £46 on eBay for the 250nm version. Lidl might bring it out with batteries included so could be £40-50 based on other tools.

Is the 250nm version on eBay definitely an impact wrench (not a driver) that takes the 20v Lidl batteries?
I think torque wrench was £30 including batteries and £19.99 for impact (driver) without batteries.

They also make a 400nm version but that's around £30 dearer

Is 250nm good enough for an impact wrench? From what I've seen I'd be looking at 400nm+ which I think is what the parkside one is ... which has never been sold over here. Think lidl have sold a corded impact wrench for about £30 several times.

No worries, here's the 400nm for £66 more expensive than Parkside for sure but still saves you having to buy batteries and chargers for another brand!

As far as I know they have never sold it over here. I wonder if there is an exclusive license to another brand for the UK which the manufacturer restricts where the parkside ones can be sold. I'm sure they'd fly off the shelves if they did sell them.

I got the Impact Driver last year and 2 batteries and a charger. I think that has 180nm iirc and to be honest is a bit fierce for what I need and has snapped a couple of screwfixes tubrosilver stainless screws. Maybe I'm not using it right?

Thanks, I wonder how much Lidl would sell the bare impact wrench for over here if they did sell it. Think I'll fire off an email to them and see if they have any plans to bring it out here.

Re different batteries / chargers, I think its about time that manufacturers were forced to standardise as the tech is now fairly mature so make the connector common I say ... and that should drive down the cost of the batteries then.

Going on previous tools you would hope around £30 but definitely no more than £40, please update us with whatever they say?

I definitely agree on batteries and chargers being the same but don't think it will ever end up that way unfortunately, once you buy into their eco system then they have you and your stuck buying their tools!

Agree about the ecosystem, the only thing which might change this is if it becomes an environmental or a supply issue.

Here is the stock, boiler plate response as if I was asking about an existing item that comes around in their offers. I have responded with a more directly with is question as to whether they are ever going to stock it .... which I thought I had already.

Regretfully, I do not have a confirmed date for when this item will next be available in our stores. Our promotional products are normally repeated every 3-6 months. This item will be re-advertised prior to going on sale. To keep up to date with our offers, view our website at lidl.co.uk. Your interest in this item has been noted by the relevant personnel.

Just had a poke around. Looks like most of the 20V still will be on offer over there on the 27/06 but not the Impact Wrench. As they have delivery in Germany then they seem to have much more selection with some online items only. Aldi over here have been doing their online deliveries for a few years now and I wonder why Lidl haven't bothered?

If Lidl in Germany do delivery then I wonder if they would deliver to the UK?
Edited by: "welshblob" 17th Jun
at some point they have to offer delivery to compete with ALDI. There is hope for Impact Wrench as long as they are showing stock online in German website. I expect the X20 USB / Light light adapter, Impact wrench & Hedge trimmer will turn up soon.
