I've used my old Clarke 180amp arc welder for years with a 13A plug on domestic wiring, including using an extension lead! It's never blown a fuse in all that time, even built a large 25'x15' shed out of angle iron with it, though I never used its full 180amp capacity.

I bought this for £80 a year ago and it is good for the money in my opinion and limited experience - it did the job on my car's chassis rails anyway. Not as nice to use as a gas jobbie but then you pays your money and you takes your choice.
I would invest in an automatic welding mask instead of trying to use the included one.
